Abuelita fue al mercado: My Granny Went to Market (Spanish Edition)

Abuelita recorre varios países del mundo y compra productos típicos en mercados tradicionales. En cada lugar compra un número determinado de objetos por lo que este es un buen libro para iniciar a los más pequeños en el concepto de número de una forma amena y divertida. Yo lo compré para leerlo con mi hijo de tres años y a él le encantan las ilustraciones y el ritmo de la historia. La traducción es buena y en ningún momento la lengua suena extraña.

Highly recommended for bilingual families and currently my 16-month old daughter's favorite book! Sweet story, interesting countries/cultures visited, great vocab and a fantastic lesson in counting, and nice/colorful/bold illustrations. I was surprised at how much my daughter loves these illustrations; she LOVES picking out the many different animals and objects (especially the two cats) on each page. She can't get enough and we read this about three times per day. Neither she nor mom/dad get sick of it. Get it!

My daughter's favorite book! We absolutely love it and take it everywhere. She received this book at her first Christmas and has almost memorized the entire book at the age of 2. She adores her own abuelita and loves reading about other abuelitas just as much! It's great to learn about other countries, cultures, cultural objects, counting, traveling, numbers, animals, .. there is really so much to this book with all the wonderfully illustrated images.

I am only writing this review because my son loves this book. Perhaps, he loves the similarities between this "abuelita" with his own... or something else. The book is well written; I could not notice any obvious mistakes. And the verses rhyme for the most part. The illustrations are a little chaotic, but nice for kids. My son enjoys my description of the many places abuelita visits and it is a great way to introduce the numbers and counting. Right now, this is his favorite book. (We are a Spanish-speaking family)

Just perfect! It's a great story and in español :) What else can I ask for!? Our 2yr old likes it very much. We have a large collection od books in Spanish, and this is definitely on the 'top shelf.'

My 19 month old son enjoys this book. It is an interesting story and filled with colorful shapes and objects that we can talk about.

My 4 and 2 year old girls love this story. We enjoy discussing the various countries grandma visits on her magic rug. They have fun counting the items abuelita acquires at each stop. It is also very well written and has colorful illustrations that engage the children. I highly recommend it!

It's well written, and it's very colorful. I found it rather boring - but overall, my son and I are both over the 'count things' books - both in English and Spanish. I do like that it's 'global'. The Spanish is good (important) - so all in all, a good book, just not great. If you are looking for great go for 'Tico Tango'!

Wirklich wunderschönes Buch für Kinder!Meine Tochter hat es von Anfang an (ab 2) geliebt.Die Farben, die einzelnen Seiten, die simple kindliche Darstellung , einfach toll! Und der Lernfaktor kommt automatisch hinzu (Zahlen lernen, Tiere erkennen, neue Länder)Kann ich nur weiterempfehlen!

Este libro es muy bueno, se lo compre a mi hija que está aprendiendo el español...le encanta tanto que quiere se lo lea todos los días...tambien le compre libros de Dora pero esos no le gustan tanto como este. A mi hijo de 2.5 años le encantó el libro. Es una historia sencilla pero con dibujos muy bonitos. Una manera para empezar a hablar de diferentes países y culturas.

Ich war erst etwas enttäucht weil nur sehr wenig Text im Buch ist aber meine 5 jährige Tochter ist begeistert und selbst mein 2 jähriger ist wegen den tollen Illustrationen schon an dem Buch interessiert.

Der Buchumschlag ist falschrum geklebt, so das beim aufschlagen des Buches alles auf dem Kopf ist. (Vor)Lesen kann man das Buch dann aber nach einmaligem Drehen des Buches ohne Probleme ;) Also keine weiteren Fehldrucke.
