Snug fit for size 12...good enough for "hanging lake" trail in Colorado...
I wear men's size 12, which is a snug fit for these crampons, so anything above size 13 may break them. The hardware appears to be stainless steel and the cleats are not sharp to the touch. They are surprisingly compact and easily fit in the small cloth drawstring bag that is provided. I have yet to try these on the trail, but based on my experience, I'm confident these crampons will provide hundreds of miles hiking on icy trails. One of the toughest hiking trails that I like to do is called "hanging lake" near Glenwood Springs, Colorado. The trail is only about 2 miles long, but it goes straight up from a starting elevation of about 7,200 feet, with an ending elevation of about 8,400. My favorite time to do this hike is during the wintertime, when the trail becomes a sheet of ice about half way thru, almost requiring a good set of crampons. Many people use snow shoes to do hanging lake in the winter time, but the correct equipment is a good set of crampons, because the snow is compacted into ice by daily hikers. I believe these crampons can handle hanging lake with no problem, and that is the best complement that I can give.

Inexpensive alternative
These are an inexpensive alternative to my higher priced and quality Hillsounds (see pictures). They will be perfect for cleaning my driveway this winter. My wife has a similar inexpensive pair (different vendor, look identical) and they've worked great for her when doing winter hikes. I like to do winter hikes and it's nice to have a back-up and not to be walking on concrete with my good ones.

Don't like the placement of the spikes
We have quite a few similar crampons. For a size 10 goretex boot, the spikes are not in a good spot on the heel. If you are on terrain going down hill, the spikes aren't where then should be to strike first. For smaller shoes it would get better, but for size 10 boots we do not recommend these in size large.

Spikey!
These crampons are great so far. im a size 10.5and as you can see from the pics the Large size fits me perfecty. it hasnt ice'd or snowed over yet so i am waiting but i thought i'd go ahead and review them for now till it does... so these are ez to put on and strap right over my 10.5 shoes and should be stretchy enough and fit even better over my hiking boots. the cleats stick like glue on the grass and dirt so im expecting hoping they will the same in the snow/ice. nice pattern of cleats. I cant wait fro the dang season to get here, seems like it takes longer and longer but when it does i'll be ready with this nice strap on pair of crampons. oh and they are lightweight too.... if they suck in the ice and snow i'll come back and change my review....

Easy to Put On
I haven't had the opportunity as of yet to put these to the test on ice but I have sat down to put them on the see how quickly/easily they go on. I'll be carrying these during winter hunting for packing out large heavy loads in snowy and icy conditions. I was able to sit down and put them on easily over my Asolo all leather hiking boots. The last product I used was a kind of spring stretched over a rubber core that went on the bottom of the boots. They didn't bite as well into the ice and they broke soon after buying them under my weight of 225 Lbs. These look much sturdier and well made. I think the design of the rubber part on top of the boot and all metal below with cleats is a superior design. If these last and are truly durable for multiple heavy pack-outs I'll keep my score of a 5 star rating.

Just what I wanted. Fits nicely.
I ordered the Large size, and the crampons fit nicely on my 10.5M shoes/boots. The elastic is pretty robust, and getting them to fit does take a little bit of finagling. But in the end they fit on my shoe/boot and will be perfect for my (admittedly infrequent) need. You see, where I live we don't get a lot of snow; in reality, though, our winter weather is more likely to be in the form of ice/sleet/freezing rain. The spikes on the bottom of these crampons will bite into the ice nicely, eliminating all the slipping and sliding. I love that they are one-size fits the range of shoe sizes. I ordered the Large based on the size chart in the listing and they fit beautifully.

Not bad for backup spikes
These seem better than some of the less expensive spikes I've tried. On those, either the rubber failed, or the links that interconnect the spike platforms were made of a very soft metal that eventually pulled apart, but these seem a little more rugged. I haven't really tested them on solid ice yet, but I will as soon as I get the chance and update this if I have any issues.

Very difficult to get on
I ordered the large for my husband and I can't even get it on my shoes no matter how hard I pull. So be prepared to have to really stretch it. If I'd have known, I would have orderer a size up I think. The spikes are solid though and really dig into whatever they are on.

Great Traction and Protection for Winter Hikes
I was impressed by the grip they provide on icy and snowy surfaces. The 12 stainless steel spikes per foot give me confidence on steep slopes and slippery trails. The gaiters are also well-designed, keeping snow and rain out effectively. They're easy to put on and take off, and the zipper is sturdy. I've worn them with hiking boots and shoes, and they fit well. I'm happy with this purchase.
