Great to use and clean . Set on auto drain and it drains into container below , remove all the bits left behind with some kitchen towel , then pull out container and refill . Switch on and ready to fry again . Stops the oil spoiling because anyone who has ever used a fryer, the bits burn and spoil the oil. Oil is now so expensive that this machine will help lower the costs of frying. I know deep fat frying isn't healthy but in moderation it's fine and the kids love McDonald's Fry's and this machine makes better fries. We use french fries with a slight batter coating from a supermarket in the frozen Isle. Wow lovely and thin coated fish does cooks well. Thick fish we only use fresh as the middle can sometimes not be cooked so we simply finish it off in the microwave

Absolutely brilliant deep fat fryer. In fact, I would say the best dff I've ever used. Firstly, the easy clean features are superb. Once you have finished frying your food, turn the lever to the Right hand side and, hey presto, when cooled, the oil drains into the lover tank. As it drains it filters the oil holding any food particles in the tank. The lower tank with the oil in, is stored under the main tank so, next time you use it. Remove the tank, unscrew tank plug, and pour clean oil back into main fryer bowl. So the filtered oil is beautifully clean. Once emptied I lift the heating element out of tank, and give it a wipe with kitchen towel then, lift out the tank and again, wipe it out with kitchen towel. Just to keep it as clean as new, I wash the tank with good soapy water, then put it back together. And....... It looks like new. No horrible sticky hardened oil anywhere. OK, it's not cheap but, you get what you pay for. This fryer is fantastic. So glad I purchased this appliance. I would give it 10 stars if I could. Highly recommended.

Great fryer. One of the best I have had. Cleans the oil so well. Easy set up. So simple to use. Simple to clean.

Looks good quality, easy to disassemble for dishwasher cleaning , much better than my previous fryer which was always a messy cleaning job .

Good for so long. But can be outright dangerous. I am on my third one of these now and when they work they are excellent at frying the food. The element lasts about three years before it begins losing power, so this is not a cheap fryer. My third one has had the basket holder modified to make it much safer. The older model doesn't hold it as securely as I'd like and fell back into the oil on several occasions with a splash of boiling hot oil. I've used deep fat fryers for 30 years so I learned to manage with this, but my wife was a bit scared using it. We persevered with this model though as it was the only one until recently that offers the filter feature, which is a brilliant invention. My third one drains the oil however, when hot on cook mode, which makes it downright dangerous. This began a couple of days after the 30 day return window, so Tefal said I would have to return it for repair. They initially reported it would be a few weeks to get the part to fix it. I complained and was told that if I had an issue with them I'd have to take it up with the retailer. A few days later I was told that it was to be returned with no fault found. I explained that I have used these fryers for six years and that it was definitely faulty and not user error. The returned fryer immediately drains in cook mode as soon as it starts to cool down, but when the oil is still boiling hot! I have spoken to Tefal again who have at least apologised, but again suggested I speak to the retailer if I am not happy with using their service centre. Amazon complaints/returns service send you back to Tefal however, so no chance of taking it up with 'the seller'. It is time to try the Morphy Richards one!

Almost went for the compact version. So glad I didn’t as even this size is not huge. It’s nice quality and the oil filtering function is great. Just set it to drain/filter once finished frying and it automatically drains and filters the oil into a removable container at the bottom once the oil has cooled sufficiently.

i purchased this fryer and after 3 months it became faulty, plug and lead getting very hot. although it was only 3 months old i was told it would not be replaced it would be repaired. while not happy with this i had no option but to send it back for repair,over 2 weeks have gone by and i have heard nothing so today i phoned Tefal only to be told it would be another 10 to 15 days. this was not a cheap product and am more than unhappy it only lasted 3 months. Tefal customer services are unhelpful and dont really care what happens or when it happens, the aftercare service is at best terrible and at worse unprintable. i would never purchase another Tefal product. have gone by and i have not heard anything so i called
