So Much Fun
I am not an arts and crafts kind of mom. I am not a vegetable garden mom. With that out of the way we absolutely enjoyed every bit of this, especially my 3 1/2 year old son, who cannot follow directions or sit still to save his life. We had been reading a book about seeds and gardening so this seemed like an activity we should try since April was just around the corner. The directions are very simple. The only thing I changed was the order in which the stickers went on the pot. I recommend making that the very first activity you do. That way you can talk about what you're going to do with the soil and seeds while having fun placing stickers all over the CLEAN EMPTY pots. Then we added the soil pucks and water. My son loved watching it expand. You have to wait 20 minutes so we turned to the included coloring book and did activities in there while we waited for the soil to expand. It does not come with a trowel or rake. We tried using a rusty trowel we had lying around in the garage (like I said, not a gardener) which wasn't very ergonomic. Honestly a fork would do just as well to mix the soil and pat it down. Surprisingly, I did not have soil all over my kid and the kitchen so A+ for being a "clean" dirty craft. Then you poke 5-6 one inch deep holes with your finger (fun!) and add seeds. The sunflower seeds were big enough for my son to handle. However, his fine motor skills were not advanced enough to handle the microscopically small basil and carrot seeds so I did those. Each packet comes with more seeds than you can plant at once so this is something you can do again once the first batch is grown out. We placed the pots on our windowsill and waited. It worked! We got carrots, basil, and sunflowers. Every morning we'd take them down so he could look inside and see how much bigger they got. It was so nice to do something earthy and crafty since I don't love my children enough to do those things on a regular basis. Kidding. Anyway, it's worth noting that the materials including the packaging are made from recycled goods and a lot of this stuff can be recycled again.Overall this was an easy, simple to follow activity that was educational, fun, and hands-on that can be done indoors or out. I think this would also make a great gift for a child 3-6 years old.*If you found my review helpful please click 'yes' below. Thanks!*

The Seeds Actually Sprouted
I have bought a few cheap grow kits in the past that never ended up sprouting after the seeds were planted. So, I am pleasantly surprised that all three of the varieties in the Abby's Garden kit are growing nicely. Even more so, because I ended up buying this kit when I saw it on sale back before Christmas time, and then, I decided to wait and give it to my son in his Easter basket. Thinking the seeds might not be good, I planted them all although there were more than the directions call for in each packet. But, I think I will need to replant them in bigger containers, because so many sprouted.I would definitely recommend this kit for preschool and kindergarten age kids. My four (almost 5) year old loved helping to plant the seeds, decorating the pots with the stickers and coloring in the activity book. And, there were plenty of fun Sesame Street stickers left over for future art projects.

Fun learning project for littles
I bought this for my two-year-old as a do-it-together Easter present. I was concerned because I noticed the seed packets said use by February 2019, but we planted them anyway. The soil pucks are pretty interesting - they look tiny and thin but they do expand to fill the whole pot. I did drill a small hole in the bottom of each plastic pot for drainage. Now one week from planting, all three types of seeds have sprouted! I’m sure we’ll have to transfer the sprouts soon for more soil depth and I’m not certain how to do that (amateur gardener here), but my two-year-old has loved watching the process and learning patience along the way!

Fun!!
These are too stinkin cute ! It also comes with a personalized activity book for your child to read and color while understanding what’s going on. As told by Sesame Street. It comes with more than enough stickers and is very easily explained. I love it. We love it.The sunflower and carrots grew fast in a week. The basil has now..about 2 months later just began to pop up (don’t give up). Some plants just don’t grow that’s reality BUT these all did. We water every day and my 3 year old has “responsibility)I’d recommend !!:)

Expired seeds still sprouted
I bought this for my nearly-2 year old daughter. The seed packets said they were for use during 2018 and would be expired in 2019. We still worked together to plant them, and they sprouted after all. My daughter loved putting the stickers on the outsides of the pots. She enjoyed scribbling in the instruction book/activity book. For less than $9, I would totally recommend this as a spring gift for a toddler. I deducted one star because of the expired seeds.

Very cute! Would recommend!
I ordered this for my niece for Christmas along with a set of gardening tools and she loved it! Her mom has a green thumb and loves plants so they were very excited when they opened this. The containers are a thick plastic and feel sturdy. The kit altogether is just very cute. Can't wait to see how the plants grow in the spring!

Expired seeds :(
I bought this to keep my 3 year old busy during the quarantine but after getting the dirt in the pots we saw the seeds were all expired by a year. I’m hoping it still works. The pots are nice and sturdy. If the seeds weren’t expired I would say this would be a nice gift. Bummer.

Fun, interactive, and educational!
My 3 year old son got this for Christmas and has been really enjoying it. The process of decorating the pots and planting the seeds was a lot of fun and a great opportunity to learn about plants and how they grow. There were a few days of impatient waiting and then sprouts emerged! Now we’ve been checking their growth daily. My only suggestion would be to maybe drill some drainage holes in the bottom of each pot before you add the soil, either that or you may need to curtail some overeager watering from your child.
