Awesome drink ideas and presentation. Delicious recipes and infusions. Especially being stuck home it’s awesome to have high end quality drinks! Bought one for myself and one for a gift.

Not Actually Tiki
The book is called Tiki with a Twist, but there's no real tiki cocktails or anything connected to tiki here other than a couple of poor recipes for classic tiki drinks at the very end of the book. Most of the cocktails have no connection to actual tiki drinks and few of them even incorporate rum. A few are decent but a lot of them are sweet and imbalanced. When tiki people complain about tiki drinks being distorted, this is what they are referring to. The book is a cheap ploy to slap Tiki onto a book of half-baked cocktails in an effort to sell more books. Luckily I bought this for $4 so I don't feel ripped off, but you shouldn't buy this if you're looking for any actual tiki drinks, history, or technique. Buy Easy Tiki, Smuggler's Cove, Minimalist Tiki, or any of Beachbum Berry's books instead.

It's a very in depth guide to tiki - though a couple of their "classics" are a bit off in the proportions even before the "twist"ed version. There are almost no recipes in the book that don't call for at least a couple of days advanced prep, whether making special syrups, infusions, purees, and garnishes; which has pros and cons. This book would be GREAT if you were throwing a tiki party for a bunch of people. If you just want to make a cocktail for yourself and a +1 at the end of the day, on the other hand, it's probably not the book you want.I do find it odd that with so much attention to doing everything from scratch, there's no homemade substitute for Coco Lopez. You want me to infuse my own pineapple wedges and flavor my own vodka, but you won't figure out how to give me a cocktail with good coconut flavor that either uses real coconut milk or shows how to make a cream of coconut substitute without all the stabilizers and fillers?
