Wonderful book not just for children but for adults. Heartwarming, James Herriot stories are the best. Great illustrations.

This is the perfect gift for any child. The stories are true and the illustrations are wonderfully done. I had this book as kid and I have it for my kids and have given it as a gift to all the kids in my family. An absolute must for any kids’ library.

The item arrived in good condition. Owning the individual stories in singular books, it is very nice to have these stories in one volume. We read them to our very young children, they themselves read them after they learned to read, and we all still enjoy reading them -- to their children (our grandchildren) and others! I think you'll not regret taking the time to share these stories -- please do so.

This is a beautiful book! My 3yo loves the stories and especially the illustrations. Only downside is that I have a very hard time reading and understanding the accents given to the farmers. My daughter will ask me what they’re saying and I genuinely cannot translate it lol.

Perfect bedtime stories for kids who like animals. They’re on the longer side for a picture book so they might not keep attention of three and under but the pictures are joyful and James Herriot was such an extraordinary writer my four year old can’t help but love the book as much as I do. It’s always one more one more one more at bed time!

A must read book for family's! We read it growing up, and it is so nostalgic. Great stories & even better meanings. So good to have solid books out there for the whole family to read together and grow up with.

The illustrations are lovely, the stories are wonderful. It is a lovely book and makes a great gift for a young animal-lover. It is at a 4th grade reading level or thereabouts.

An absolute favourite with all the kids and adults in our house. Beautiful illustrations and classic stories. This is one I’m sure I’ll keep for the grandkids one day.

This book is everything great about James Herriot books but tailored at 3-6 year olds. It has eight individual stories (chapters really) of fun, unique experiences that Dr Herriot shares. The pictures are beautiful, the stories are delightful that work with the realities of being a vet and life on a farm in a very gentle, non-confronting way. It truly is overwhelmingly joy-filled and so worth reading. Great for boys or girls. This book takes pride of place on our bookshelf.

I havent come across any book as wonderful as this which talks of animals and their stories..and these are not fictions..but true stories penned by the Veterinary doctor practicing in Scotland countryside. The stories are of farm animals like cats and dogs and horse and ship and pig. Each story is narrated very well to depict the character of each animal without any jargon. And what to say about marvelous illustrations of this book. There is not a single page without illustration. Rather the stories are written on illustrated pages. The illustrations very well show the countryside Scotland which seems very similar to rural India of farms and animals. Each page is a vibrant imagery. Both the illustrators have their own different style. The book has a very grand size. You would feel like a photo album..like a memoir someone had made.
