Cannot use it

It works well except the battery is really all over the place. Charge it to 100% but as soon as I unplug it it started going down quickly.Update: the battery is still doing this and my mom cannot use it for her music. She hasn’t used it since I bought it for her and it really bums me out because apple no longer deals with iPods.
