I guess they would be okay for an office waiting room.
These are not the quality of Marcal products of the past. They are fairly rough and they have a strong unappealing smell to them.

TBH, wish I had not made this purchase
Rev'd up by all the information I've been getting in my social media feeds lately about forests being chopped down for TP & tissues, I decided to make more of an effort at sustainability and as I've purchased and been happy with Marcal TP in the past, thought I would try their tissues. What. A. Mistake.I am not a fan of super soft tissues, in fact I avoid the types that are "lotion infused' or super soft but these are so rough they feel almost like sandpaper! I'm resigned to using the 60 or so boxes I bought, slowly and unhappily (waste not, want not) but I know that if anyone in my family gets a cold and you know how that is...your nose gets sore & red after awhile..I will have to buy some softer tissues to get us over that hump. The other thing that surprised and bothered me about this product was the fact that each box is about half the size of an average tissue box. Remember I was buying these to be less wasteful, recycle, etc...I'm not a math person, but I can certainly see that this product uses up more packaging than the average tissue box and that seems entirely at odds with being a green product. So there you have it. I hate to bash a recycled product because we all need to do our bit/do better/kill fewer trees. But I won't be buying these tissues again (then again, with so many boxes, I won't be in the market, except during cold season for about 5 years!).

Tough tissues that won't dispense easily from the box
These tissues might normally be found in truck stop restrooms or in the very cheapest of hotels. I do not recommend them for the office or school setting. They feel like a fine grade sandpaper quality. With these tissues you do get 30 boxes of 100 tissues for a great cost. That said, they are very tough on the nose. They are only slightly softer than notebook paper, and that may simply be due to the pliability factor and not a softness factor in truth. These would probably be great for craft projects involving paper mache' or paper kite tails. One also needs to dig into the box to pull the tissue out. A single tissue does not pop out one after the other as you would expect. When people are blowing noses with this it does make one consider hygiene factors if people are coming behind one another and digging their fingers into the box itself to pull out the next tissue. It's kind of a yuck factor if the tissue box is meant as a community shared item.I recommend that you spend a little more to get something just a bit better. If you need to go to this extreme of efficiency I recommend the Boardwalk brand over Marcal for this purchase (link below). The Boardwalk tissues are a little softer and they do pop up out of the box one after the other making them the more convenient facial tissue. Best 2-ply facial tissue!
I have seasonal allergies -- this facial tissue holds up to my sneezes and continual nose blowing. I appreciate the fact that the product is from 100% recycled paper, EPA compliant, no added dyes or fragrances, and whitened without chemicals containing chlorine. The packaging is made fro 100% recycled paperboard and is itself recyclable. Contrary to another reviewer who thought the packing was wasteful, the individual boxes are flatter as the tissue is not "fluffy" with a large air volume between the 2-ply. This product hits all the metrics I have for facial tissue use and environmental concerns. If you want "soft" tissues, buy silk handkerchiefs. If you are concerned about leaving your children a sustainable environment, buy these tissues. Would I buy them again, YES! I also recommend buying the toilet paper made from recycled paper -- it is safer and easier to break down.

Great for schools and work, not for home
I bought these because of the low cost. As a teacher, I provide tissues for my students and during the allergy seasons and cold seasons, I go through a full case in two-three months. They aren't as soft as Kleenex or Puffs and the box design doesn't match ANY decor, but they are cost effective and no one complains that they aren't soft enough. I like that they are not 2ply, because many kids tend to be conditioned to grab two tissues despite the thickness (that ship has sailed, I can't even begin to understand it- is folding if in half no longer an option?) so at least they are using two 1ply, vs. using two of the more expensive Puffs or Kleenex. I will buy again.

Stop wasting paper
Consumers need to use more recycled material, we don’t need the best of the best just to blow our nose into

Let me explain the stars...
I realize it's weird to give these tissues 5 stars overall, but no more than 3 in any category. The reason is that they're useful for plenty of non-nose purposes, but not soft enough for more than occasional nose-blowing. I'm not a fan of super-soft, linty or lotion tissues, but these are just smooth with no softness, similar to Kimwipes/lab wipes. So they're great for small drying jobs where softness isn't necessary and a paper towel is too much. On the packaging, I'd love to see bigger boxes, less cardboard even though the boxes are also made of recycled and recyclable cardboard.

A little disappointing
I am trying to go GREEN however there are a few problems with this product. There are hardly any tissues in the box, so it is expensive. They are pretty rough on the face. And you have to keep digging into the box to get them out. I am glad they are "green" but I may have to go back to regular tissues.
