Awesome for the Price
Been surfing short boards and mid-lengths for years. Didn't want to spend a grand on a longboard. This board is a wave-catching machine. Great for smaller surf. Caught wave after wave yesterday in 1-2 foot Florida surf. Lots of fun. Turns easily. If you don't expect killer performance, you can't go wrong with this board. Perfect first board to learn on.

Great beginner board for adults and kids
Great beginner board to tackle to basics of surfing. This is a board that you can actually make progress on as a beginner like balance, paddling, popping up, and riding the wash. I’m a 38 year old man and just started surfing a month ago. I purchased this board as I read many reviews and all signs pointed to the 8’ Wavestorm as a great board. A month into surfing and I can confirm it is. I surf the outer banks almost everyday and although I am still figuring out body position and paddle technique, I am riding about 40% of the waves I go for. This board has helped me not get frustrated, as it is easier to paddle and pop up on than the traditional boards I see more advanced surfers on. If you think you will look like a noob out there on this board, you will. Just own it, and let people in the line know you are new and still learning, most likely they will tell you that they started on the same kind of board and will be there to help you out. Also, my 9 year old son uses this same board and is now able to paddle and stand up on a wave all by himself. Good board for me (a 200lb 38 year old) and my son (a 60lb 9 year old)!! Now my only problem is going to work instead of going to the beach! Enjoy!

Solid entry-level board
I got this board about two months ago as a very novice surfer (one lesson), and have used it about a dozen times since then. Overall, this is a great board for the money and is a good way to see if you're into surfing enough to drop $$$ on a batter board.Pros: inexpensive, lightweight, long enough to practice on fairly small wavesCon: one star deducted because the leash that comes with it is absolutely awful. The part that connects to the board is designed with thin rope that runs through a sort-of metal grommet, and the rope would frequently wrap around the grommet and leash in such a way that it would shorten to about a foot long. So more than a few times I found myself basically tied to the back of the board until I could either unwrap the rope or detach the leash from my leg. There are many third-party leashes that will not have this problem, so it's worth buying one rather than dealing with that issue.TLDR: solid, good-value starter board with a leash you should replace immediately.

Perfect board.
Exactly what you want for all types of waves. I've had fun on this thing from 2ft to 5ft clean and sloppy swell. Would highly recommend to anyone starting to learn or even experienced riders during the flat seasons. Handles well for a foamy!

Perfect for beginners
Am 5’3 and 165 lbs; worked perfectly for me! I tried surfing before with a 7ft board and noticed it was harder to stay stable while paddling. The textured part for the feet worked perfectly for staying stable while paddling! It was also much easier to balance myself on this board rather than the one I used before. The only thing I’d mention is that you should probably wax it before using it.

8ft of Durable Fun and a Good Deal to Boot
My last 8ft wavestorm bit the dust after 6 years of hard surfing. It was my fault for surfing it in beachbreak that was pushing 12ft faces over a low tide sandbar. Waaay outside it's design parameters. But up until the last moment when a throwing lip center punched it, exposing its 3 beefy stringers to daylight (yeah there really are 3 in there), I was having fun. So I ordered another one from this vendor. It came way ahead of schedule in perfect shape. Very well packed. From Taiwan, NOT china if that means anything to you. This iteration has stiffer fins than mine did, which was a big complaint I had about my original one. It got a little slidey in steeper stuff. So should you get one? If you are an unpretentious person who is just picking up the sport or would like an inexpensive board that will serve you well and durably in most conditions, get it. They are still a bargain even if they go for almost double what they did six years ago. For the record: 170lbs, 40 years surfing, taught both sons to surf on wavestorms, still enjoy surfing as much as I did when I was 10, especially on my foamie.

As expected - perfect!
No surprises here , it is what I wanted. I was stoked when Amazon had this with free shipping to Prime members. It's the perfect learner and fun board. It can be thrown around without breaking easily. Its fun, even for an experienced surfer. Shipping was quick and no damage. Highly recommend.

Great board !
Im an adult beginner (6ft1in, 160lbs) and love this board.Started learning on 9ft hard tops and did not like them, much prefer the lighter, better floating, softer 8ft.Got hit in the face for the first time by the foam side, no problem, a hardtop would have been horrible.
