Make sure you put only a half cup or less worth of dry ingredients in at a time. Also, this was my favorite tool in the kitchen in the first few weeks of use, but then the blades started to bend and the mechanism kept getting stuck. I'd recommend buying a different crank sieve elsewhere.

I do a lot of baking and wanted a sturdy crank style sifter, this suits my needs.The crank turns smoothly I like the lip around the bottom of the sifter, it keeps the flour directly into the bowl. Very nice and so easy. Love the stainless aspect. Excellent sifter!

the handle sticks constantly after a few uses and you have to really pull at it to make it work again. I replaced it with a turn style handle

I was very excited about purchasing this since I've never used a sifter before and wanted to elevate my baking game (been watching a lot of The Great British Bake Off). Unfortunately, after using it less than 5 times, the thin metal bar that activates the mechanism inside the sifter has broken and I do not know if I will be able to fix it. Disappointing.

I used this to sift flour for baking. Worked for a couple of months and then broke. Would not buy again.
