So far, we have been using this blanket on our outdoor decking tiles for our baby to sit on (& yes, it is very slippery, but that was to be expected with some common sense--thanks, reviewers!) & used once at the beach, so I can't speak to its durability. First, while the blanket does resemble the picture here (of the dark), the colors are truly dark & darker in person. The pattern is not very appealing, either. The material backing the blanket is like that of a sleeping bag's cheap synthetic fabric, with a slight shine to it--that's the water-resistant nylon. The blanket top is a busy pattern of stripes & not very soft to the touch. The blanket is very thin, which I actually like because I can fold it quite small by flattening the air-pockets. The 'bag' that holds the blanket is not at all a bag, the pockets can't hold much anyway, & more like a belt, for lack of better word, for the blanket, but it is useful in cinching the folded blanket & providing handles for portability. Noticed yesterday at the beach that water spilled on the patterned side caused the colors to bleed, making me wary to wash it, though I should have done so before using it (but we were too excited to try it out). Also, found beach sand difficult to shake off compared to even, say, a towel. Can't believe this product commanded a hefty price of $80 at one point, as $25 seems still quite steep when compared to a much nicer, prettier, softer picnic blanket at Target that was $15 at the beginning of the summer. Still, this blanket is okay. At least we have one now.

I purchased this for use at a concert in which we had lawn seats. When I received it in the mail, I opened it up. This blanket is giant!! I am 5"7" and I could lay on it horizontally and my whole body stayed on the blanket. We decided not to use it at the concert for two reasons:1) It was so big, it was likely to get stepped on2) It was VERY slippery.The backing that is on it make the balnket very slippery against the layers of the blanket. I do not think this an ideal blanket if you want to use it in places that have hills or slopes. Good thing we did not take it to the concert as we sat on a hill. I think it would be best used for a picnic on flat ground or at the beach.The color is great and it is a very nice blanket.

It's perfect for a family picnic in the backyard or park. The grass was slightly damp but we didn't feel it. Very light to carry and I love how I can just toss it in the wash and it come out perfect for our next use! The carrying bag for a little annoying and I ended up just rolling it small and sticking it in a zippered pouch instead. I do wish it was slightly larger in size so we can spread out a bit more.

Same as the other guy, this arrived looking a little dusty.. I am guessing this is some old stock, but to be honest after a trip through the washing machine it all good..Dustiness aside it is a very nice picnic blanket.. It seems very sturdy and looks nice.I have already ditched the carry bag, to use it, the blanket must be folded up pretty big and if you roll the blanket properly it gets to be about half the size..All in all pleased with my purchase.

I've been shopping around for outdoor/picnic blankets for a while. I saw this one last week and ordered it because its a good price. I used it last weekend at a wine festival and it was perfect! Large enough to lay down on but easy enough to fold up & put away. The "carry case" is open - not like a closed bag, so you don't have to worry too much about getting it super small when folding. The pattern is pretty but the tones are dark enough that it's not tacky. Easy to shake off, throw back in the bag and you're on your way! May purchase as a gift for friends with babies - would be soft enough for them to crawl around on.

After much research I bought this blanket. It came packaged nicely and was the right size. Build quality is average for a blanket and it is a good price. The two downsides are that it was mouldy and dusty when shipped and it is not waterproof. A quick wash fixed the first problem and I now know for future use that water can seep through. Worth buying though.

It does exactly as advertised. Its padded for comfort. Its weather/water-resistant. It gives you somewhere protected to lay when in an open field. Still... I want bigger. I have to share this space with my husband when we go out. He's a big, merciless, territory-encroaching guy. If you're OK with the dimensions, then great product. I will be looking for larger.
