Giro Fixture MIPS II Youth Helmet

Very happy with this item. I had previously purchased another helmet from a more expensive brand that supposedly has a great reputation for quality helmets for all types of sports, but found that one lacking. After checking this helmet out in a local sporting goods store, I decided to give it a try, and I am not disappointed. For the price, I received what I believe to be an excellent quality product that not only has the safety features I was looking for, but also looks great and is comfortable to wear. Recently did a 30 mile ride in town with some friends, and I have zero complaints about the fit, finish, or appearance of this helmet. I purchased the green color with claw mark version, and despite it saying that this is a "youth" size helmet, it fits my (average sized) adult head comfortably. This particular helmet might be a bit snug on someone with a larger head, but I find no issues with the way it fits me. This helmet is a great value for the price, and would have no issues outfitting my kids with this helmet as well.

Absolutely love the safety features on the helmet and feel great having my seven year old son wear it. My only critique is that he can’t get the helmet off by himself- the chin strap clip is so strong that it even takes two hands for me to get it off. This is a pretty big downfall for a kid who wants to independently ride his bike to and from our neighbors houses as he can’t independently get his helmet off once he’s at his destination. I’m hoping in time it’ll loosen up? Or maybe we got a helmet with a faulty chin strap?

For almost $80 I was expecting something that felt like I got my monies worth, something with substantial quality. No wow factor here. Would not recommend and would not buy again. Feels like I got ripped off.
