The Ireland of my dreams
I have a soft spot for this country, the landscape and the houses - although I've never been there. If I believed in reincarnation I must have lived there in a former life. After reading this book where you can sense the atmosphere spreading from every page its almost like the real thing. In some places I would recommend just a little bit of tidying up or just a hint of modernisation, but its also so much of the charm that the 'Noveau Riche' have not spoiled everything yet with all their money. And thank for that.

My paperback is good value and the subject interesting - it is a little restricted in the houses it surveys, they being owner-occupied so that there is a great deal of "shabby-chic" - if you are into that sort of
