Life Changing Book -- Highly recommend!!!!
I am a 71 year old female, retired engineer with hundreds of hours of computer time behind me with very few breaks!A year and a half ago, I was diagnosed with arthritis/osteoporosis of the neck/spine and have been dealing with dizziness/foggy brain/frozen face. I have been to a physical therapist which helped some. I found Carolyn's book and decided to give it a try (there are no Alexander Technique instructors close to me in Montana). I had decided that if these exercises didn't help, I would have to go back to a physical therapist. I have been doing the "Daily 5" for about a month and they are definitely helping. I do them in the morning and if by chance (which is getting less and less) I start getting the feeling back during the day -- I do them again -- and they do clear up my head. This book has made me much more aware of what I am doing to my body and I am now very conscious of how I sit, stand and move.I have also been doing Yang Style Tai Chi for about three years and I was getting so I couldn't do my kicks because of balance (dizzy). I can now do my kicks again with confidence! Thank you, Carolyn!

Alexander Technique
As a new devotee to the Alexander Technique, I found Carolyn Nicholl's new book: The posture Workbook to be wonderful guide to reducing one's stress and improving posture. I've incorporated Carolyn's Postural 5-a-day Plan into my daily routine. The book is concise and easy to follow. The complimentary access to videos on the internet were helpful. Many thanks! The Posture Workbook was a very limited introduction to the ...
The Posture Workbook was a very limited introduction to the Alexander Technique, but lacked the specific exercises and info that the title implied. A book that does accomplish these attributes is Esther Gokhale's 8 Steps to a Pain-Free Back. Gokhale's book is also an Alexander based program, but builds on it, and adds to it.

Two stars
It could have been an okay book if they really provided the supporting videos they claimed that they provided. The website they advertise to sell the book does not exist. There are much better resources for AT such as " secret to using your body" by Leland Vall

Potential to improve the quality of your life.
I purchased this book after comparing several others, and wow, this book has improved the quality of my life in a matter of days! I know my posture is bad, but could not figure out a way to improve it. This book explains why and how to fix it. I am so grateful that I found this book, and I am recommending it to friends and family.

Boy did I need this book
Very detailed and helpful for feeling and looking better. Gotta' keep working it. Realizing that poor posture affects the inside organs and digestion was a big incentive to keep reminding myself to stop slouching and sit and stand straight. Helpful exercises also.

Fascinating
This is an excellent book explaining why a bad posture will impact on breathing, digestion because of the compresion and tensions. The introduction is quite long. This is to take you in the theory of good posture.I like the 5 a day. exercises. this book has lots of picture that compares bad to good postures, lots of skeletons! It's fascinating.
