clear picture for easy personal adaptation in the PROGRAM PLANNING section
A highly informative, state-of-the-art approach to proper golf fitness and training. The authors have produced results with some of the top amateur and tour players. The illustrations are artful and show the specific muscle groups required for every aspect of the swing. Understanding the relationship and function of these muscle groups makes the benefit of the individual exercises much clearer.Strength and explosive power are covered last but there is a progressive method outlined to increasing these components of the swing. Strength alone may not translate into greater swing speeds without the foundations of flexibility, balance, stability and mobility and may increase the risk of injury. Golf injuries are very common and everyone wants to reduce the potential. From pre-practice or game warm-up, to planning a complete training program there is a roadmap for improvement and success in this book. There is a lot of tour quality technical information here. While it is extensive, it is all brought into a simple, clear picture for easy personal adaptation in the PROGRAM PLANNING section. This is where every golfer, of any level can start the appropriate personal plan.In the chapter on planning it was interesting to see how the authors created very different plans for their tour players. LPGA stars to PGA winners like Kevin Chappell and Gary Woodland all have different strengths and also areas they need to improve. This book creates a method for all golfers to improve their swing, ball-striking and reduce injuries. This is a great book for anyone interested in becoming more golf-specifically fit and improving their game. It would also be an asset to the general fitness trainer who has golf clients. Teaching pros could use this to help clients adapt to the swing changes they are trying to encourage.

the explanations are pretty straightforward. You don't need to be a kinesiologist ...
Golf Anatomy is a superb exercise book that focuses on the specific muscle groups used in golf. The exercises are organized around the primary categories our bodies need to perform well on the course and also avoid injuries. For those that don't have an understanding of the muscle groups, the explanations are pretty straightforward. You don't need to be a kinesiologist to understand this information. I'd recommend this book to anyone looking to raise their game to the next level.

Great Book, needs videos
Excellent book with analysis and appropriate exercises. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because the illustrations make it difficult to figure out some of the moves. Videos would make it much better.

Technical and Detailed - Invest the Time Probably Helps A Lot
This book is very technical and detailed; it bordered on the repetitious in some ways. You will definitely understand how e muscles, joints and tendons work during your golf swing; and their are lots of great exercises and stretches to improve. For me, the two challenges. First, the big one: many exercises and stretches are fairly complex and with lengthy paragraphs and one or two diagrams, it can be challenging to figure out the stretch or lift. A simple companion page on YouTube with video demonstrations would help significantly. I found myself watching randos on YouTube demonstrate the move - this actually worked for me. Second, for the average golfer trying to improve, it is probably too much in both length and detail. This feels targeted toward physical therapists and golf coaches. All that said, if you have the time and patience for it, and you go all in you can develop your own fitness regime and I am certain you would have improved health overall and a better golf game.
