You must use this tool in reverse for outside of pipe chamfering!
great functionality and excellent value. I use this to prep pipes in my swimming pool repair business. Excellent tool to have in your tool box. I only wish you didn't need to use an allen hex key to change from internal to external chamfering. 2 in-1 Inner-Outer Pipe Deburring Tool,PVC Chamfer Tool,Chamfer Reamer,Pipe Deburring Reamer Plumbing Tool for 0.75" to 3.89" PVC,CPVC, ABS, PP, PE Pipes(OD fit 0.75" to 3.5", ID fit 0.92" to 3.89") $19.40

Hold the pipe firmly
A little 360 degree wobble and light pressure you’ll get a nice smooth deburr

great idea poor function
shipped dull and there is no relief area for shaving to go so after much spinning on the PVC pipe I did get a tapered end but the pvc was melted into in crack by the knife

Very important to chamfer larger pipes.
I chamfer any pvc pipes one inch and over. The sharp corners on the pipes after you cut them act like a knife blade and scrape much of the glue off so that you don't have as much glue in the joint. This sometimes leads to a weak glue joint or a path the water can force it's way through. I tested this product on some various size pipe and it worked well. Nice 45° chamfers on both the inside and the outside.

Doesn’t work
Doesn’t work on Plastic. Made it worse on PE

Much easier than scraping with a knife or using sandpaper.
2 in 1 Inner-Outer Pipe Deburring Tool,PVC Chamfer Tool,Chamfer Reamer,Pipe Deburring Reamer Plumbing Tool for 0.75" to 3.89" PVC,CPVC, ABS, PP, PE Pipes(OD fit 0.75" to 3.5", ID fit 0.92" to 3.89")I have only used this tool on 1-1/2” PVC so far for smoothing both new and used pipe ends. It works just like it is supposed too. I’m happy with the performance and results. Instructions say to rotate the tool slowly in a clockwise direction. I did so but could not get any chamfer results at all. Tried a counterclockwise rotation and it would remove material for a very good chamfer. Then I switched back to clockwise and it did a good job of smoothing the chamfer.

Clean those pipes!
This deburring tool is supposed to reduce the need for additional tools its durable construction but when using it in the pipe the shavings have no where to go so it will get a little gummed up and you have to clean it out before you can go on. Overall it's great little tool to make your life a little bit easier.

Has potential
This came just in time as I was working on drainage for a ground level deck. I have tried a deburring tool before but that one only chamfered the outside of the pipe. When I work with PVC, I also want the inside clean so that there is nothing for hairs and other things to catch on and start a clog.Pros:Sturdy and lightweight.Works on both the inside and outside of a pipe. With some grippy gloves, you can actually turn this by hand although it takes some practice to keep it level.Blades can be sharpened. It covers multiple size pipes.Cons:It does say to put 2/ 3 of the shaft on the side of the cone you’re attaching to your drill, but that means having to stop, get the allan wrench and reposition the tool shaft each time you’re switching from one side to the other. In the instructions it does say to turn clockwise while working, but looking at the blades, there is no difference between the two sides. Mine actually cut better going counterclockwise and took fewer turns. Going clockwise takes more turns and more downward pressure. There are two allan wrenches included that are different sizes. Why didn’t they just use one size? The tool shaft actually came loose while I was working with it. Be sure to tighten all allan screws before using the first time. This cuts at a 45 degree angle. When I do this by hand, I do so at maybe only 20-25 degrees. I’m just cleaning burrs and taking the edge off.I’ll have to use this a couple more times to see if I’m going to keep using it.
