Rolson 50561 2 m Rubberised Tape Measure

I had a small Folsom tape measure on a keyring before, which can in really handy but it can off the keyring and was lost. I looked for another at the time but there weren’t any. I looked again recently as I needed small to measure furniture and was very pleased to find this. Good little tape measure. Great price too! Happy!

Cheap and cheerful. Ideal for my purposes, which was to have a small tape measure that I could carry about and not really notice it was there. You're not going to get great quality at this price, but it's better than I thought, so I'm happy.

pretty darn good overall and takes a likin' for the most part. the keychain itself is a little weak but fixable (broke after one hard drop to a carpeted floor but the lower chain links are much stronger). great action on the recoil of the tape and accurate measurements. at a couple of quid, what more can you want?!

I bought this because of the very many times I recall wishing I had a tape measure with me. Seeing this for £1, it was a no-brainer to get it.It shows both metric (centimetres in 1mm increments) and imperial (inches in 1/16th increments) scales. The scales are printed in black, but every 10cm / 1 ft, the scale uses red numbering. This is useful for the cm scale, because only a single digit unit is shown on the scale itself. On the inches scale, it shows 1F, 2F, etc., instead of 12, 24, etc. However both digits are shown for >10 inches otherwise.It does perform the job required, and I do still carry it attached to my keyring. However there are some annoyances with it that are keeping me on the look-out for something a bit better.First the pros:- Showing both metric and imperial scales (see above) is hugely useful, and surprising given how thin the tape is. I have to count this as a big pro.- It fits nicely in my pocket with my keys and the metal catch is slightly rounded so as not to catch.- The lock is strong and will prevent the tape from releasing or retracting. (However see related 'con' below).- The rubberised shell should protect it from damage due to bumps and bruises; actually I was expecting it to be much flimsier than it is. I expect the shell will cope with anything that it may encounter in my pocket (including a potential drop, although as with anything plastic, don't go bashing it against walls as I'm pretty sure that'll break it).And now, the cons:- Don't expect millimetre accuracy from the catch at the end. The catch itself is only attached loosely and moves at least 1mm down the tape. In addition, the catch angle isn't at 90 degrees and this leaves me questioning accuracy. I get around this by making sure when I measure short distances I start from a few cm in and perform a simple subtraction at the end. If I want to measure something too long to see both ends - well, chances are that mm accuracy doesn't matter.- The spring mechanism is next to useless. I have to feed the tape into the case when I've finished measuring. I do feel it tugging, it's just not strong enough to pull the tape in. But at least no risk of tape burns or cuts (is that a pro?)- The lock works great, but won't stay unlocked for long. I have to hold the lock up to unwind the tape (normally I forget and feel the lock tugging on the tape as I start to unwind it).- The measurements (particularly near the start) are faded from normal use after only about 20 or so uses. It's okay as long as I don't have to actually measure something between 3 and 5cm long! I think this was caused by some combination of the lock's inability to stay up and using my thumb to hold the tape down.Because it won't last long before some of these cons make it pointless carrying it, and it's not supposed to be a consumable item, I can only rate it three stars. Basically, if you treat it like a temporary/consumable item it's fine, and for the price, you can't go wrong.

This is a great little tape measure. Feels quite chunky. It is like a miniature version of the usual larger tape measures of this type. The tape is only 2 metres and narrow but you would not expect it to be otherwise. It is small enough to put in your handbag and very useful for those times when you want to measure something to see if it will fit. Especially useful if you are out with the other half and he wants to measure a bit of wood or something and you can whip it out of your handbag and astonish him with your foresight and efficiency. I'm sure Moominmama had one in her handbag.Useful item as a small gift, stocking filler. Has a handy key ring to attach it to things. All in all a super little item, you can't go wrong with this at only £1.

As a woman on my own needed an easy to use measure. Used this for measuring my porch for a core mat and did the job! 👍🏻

Small and compact i guess its useful for quick measuring. But dont expect much tape doesn't stay rigid after being pulled out more than several inches. The end of my tape was came bent over so now its quite useless to me to measure anything but i guess you get what you pay for if you want good quality your going to have to spend a bit more

Es gibt unglaublich viele Situationen, in denen man darauf angewiesen ist, etwas ausmessen zu müssen!Aber wer hat schon immer ein " normal " großes Maßband zur Hand, oder gar einen Gliedermaßstab.Dieses Teil passt gut an den Schlüsselbund und ist sehr gut in Material und Herstellung.5 Stars !!!
