JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Part 7--Steel Ball Run, Vol. 1

One of the greatest mangas of all time. You will definitely not be disappointed in reading this. Despite it being Part 7 of JoJo’s, it takes place in a completely different universe. You could actually skip directly to this part if you wanted. You’d be missing some references and it wouldn’t connect with you as deeply as it could, but you’d still get a complete, creative, and powerful story on its own. What really makes this part stand out is the characters and the journey they’re on. The character development feels earned, the stakes stay high throughout, and the story never drags. The setting and concept are incredibly unique, even by JoJo standards, and the battles are both smart and memorable without feeling overcomplicated. It’s the kind of manga that sticks with you long after you finish it, and it’s easy to see why so many people consider it the best part of the entire series.

I wish I could give this 100 stars. Steel Ball Run is truly the best part of the entire series. I read it online 2.5 years ago and have been waiting with bated breath for an official English release, because I wanted to own it, and I was NOT let down!! It’s so beautiful! I love that it combines two volumes into one so you don’t have to buy as many, you get more bang for your buck, and it’s full sized like a novel. The hardcover is amazing quality too. I’m so happy with it!! If you’re even considering buying this DO IT!!! You will not regret it! Like I said it’s been two years since I read this and I’m normally the kind of person who gets really into something for a while then moves onto something else and focuses on that instead but even after 2.5 years and finding new things this is still my favorite alongside One Piece. I truly think this is the peak of Araki’s writing! There’s so much more depth to the characters and the story than any previous part of JoJo’s and honestly MOST media I see. You watch the characters grow and they actually feel like real people as opposed to perfect protagonists like you see in a lot of other animes that can do no wrong. These characters make mistakes, they have realistic emotion, and they don’t always do the right thing. I truly love this more than I can put into words.

One of the best manga you’ll ever read. Feels more topical than ever. The story has a lot of interesting themes, especially when it comes to individualism and patriotism. Lotta beautiful men in it too.

I am so happy for this part to finally be printed in English. It came out at a great time as the anime adaptation was just recently announced!
