I bought this doll because when they came out with the 1980's re-release of Strawberry Shortcake dolls a few years ago, this was the only one I wasn't able to find so I missed getting it. I found this iteration instead which is very close to the 1980's re-releases. It is the same size and has the same style. Side by side, they look like they are all part of the same set. The doll is well made and a good value for the money. It is true to the original Blueberry Pie. When you first take the doll out of the box, you can smell the blueberries clearly but once its out, that scent disappears pretty quickly. The only issue I have is that it is difficult to stand and though you can pose it in multiple ways, which you can't do with the original doll, it is difficult to keep it in the pose you put it in. It just moves too easily. If the joints were a tad bit harder to move, it would stay in place. This is what makes it difficult to stand, it keeps bending forward or the legs will spread by themselves. You have to find just the right balancing act for it to stay standing. So, I don't regret buying it as it completes my set, but I can't give it five stars.
