Voice remote for Amazon Fire TV and Fire TV Stick

This was sent to me as a replacement for my original Fire TV remote which stopped responding after several months (I was assured this was due to my remote being faulty in the first place!) and I have to admit that I was concerned about the hassle of setting up a new remote. Not only did it arrive promptly but the instructions were very easy to follow and within 30 seconds my remote was working and configured to my Fire TV box.I would also like to point out that in the 'settings' of your Fire TV box (and I assume the Fire TV stick too) that there is an option to update the hardware which powers your remote which I didn't know about until a friend informed me. I would recommend doing this on occasion as well.The remote itself is great and the voice search works as it should. The only thing which bothers me slightly is the actual material of the remote as it does mark, but it doesn't affect the performance and I would recommend to anyone.

My nine year old loves this (as do I). Early in the morning I hear his voice in the distance, "Sponge Bob Square Pants" and he's watching his favourite program in seconds! It is a bit pricey for what it adds but I love my gadgets.

Does what it says. Bluetooth is helpful as you can point the thing any which way and it’ll work. The only design flaw for me is the home button. I find myself pressing it way too often versus play/pause or when aiming for the click wheel. The home bottom exits whatever you’re doing and depending on what’s happening can be very inconvenient. I’d like the button more alienated like the Mic button or a prompt added to the UI when pressing home to confirm whether you want to exit or not, etc. This would make it and the FireTV much more pleasant overall.

Much better upgraded from the original (non voice remote) with better feel and responsive voice remote. Original one broke!

This is the third of these I've had in as many months. It works well, it is easy to use, it feels good. The only issue I've had is the dog keeps eating it. He isn't bothered about any of the other remotes, just this one... This time I've smothered it in aftershave and keep it out of reach. Why this one???
