Amazing (but chonky) X870E board!
I've used almost exclusively ASUS motherboards going all the way back to the 1990's and I don't honestly recall ever having problems with them. I've purchased everything from the top end ASUS motherboards to their entry level motherboards over the last 30 odd years (though I've tended towards their high end boards since the early 2000s) I can say they all just work and do what they claim they will do.This board continues that tradition of rock solid performance from ASUS and I'm very happy with my purchase. I also enjoy my first opening of the motherboard box like a kid on Christmas, and this board really stood out as one of the best looking boards I've purchased in the last 10 years or so. The first thing I noticed with this one after the obvious visual appeal was the weight. I was upgraded from the X570 to the X870E with this and this motherboards has a lot of aluminum and a lot of weight! To call this thing chonky is an absolutely fair statement. The trade of with all that aluminum of course, is cooler temperatures for your VRM (which is totally overkill for the 9950X!) and cooler temperatures and better performance of your NVMe drives both Gen5 (My Gen5 NVMe drive stays at a relatively cool 42c!). My Gen4 NVMe drives hover right around 44c, I was worried about the heat in the Gen5, turns out with this particular board that is a non-issue.The latest BIOS (1003 as of this writing) improves gaming performance with the 9950X and works beautifully to park your unused cores to better improve your frame rates. If I had one complaint with my upgrade is that training DDR5 is a slow process. Fortunately you only have to do that once (more if you're tweaking your memory) but for me it's select the non-tweaked profile in BIOS and it's been rock solid since (I had issues with the tweaked profile crashing games, and switched to the standard one, and the problems went away).I settled on this particular board as it had all the features I was looking for, at a price I thought was reasonable. I did my research and while I did briefly consider an ASRock motherboard I ended up settling on this for both the lanes for the NVMe and keeping my graphics card PCIE slot at x16! It also has amazing connectivity on the rear I/O shield. All that and my great experience with ASUS motherboards is why I picked this. In my opinion, you can't go wrong with ASUS motherboards.

Great Mobo at a great price if trying Resale
I have to say considering I went with the "Sold by Amazon Resale and Fulfilled by Amazon" unit at half price, I am blown away. I'm sure some of the returned units aren't always functioning 100% but this one I got is absolutely perfect. No booting issues, got into BIOS pretty easily and Windows installed right after. I would say if you aren't in a rush and want to try the "resale" units absolutely go for it. So for the money it was an absolute steal! The number of USB ports on this Mobo is insane and one of the reasons I went with it. The overall quality is amazing, love the design and patterns on it. One beautiful looking Mobo. So far so good, paired with a 7800X3D, WD SN850X SSD and Kingston 6000mt RAM the computer is incredibly fast. Stability wise: First boot it didn't like both sticks of RAM but after removing one, booting into BIOS and then installing Windows I was able to add the second stick of RAM and stable after that running both sticks. Few of the stand out features have to be the RGB and all the heat sinks placed all over the board. Really a top notch and high end Mobo. I absolute recommend it. And again the Resale board I got was absolutely PERFECT.

choosen for my dream pc
Got this pared with an 9950X, 7900 GRE, and NZXT Flow H9, 64 gig vengeance ram setup.I got this board specifically for all the ports. There isn't any USB lower than 10gb speed. It makes so you never have to think about your port speed. There are a million settings in the bios, so if you want to tweak things, oh boy, you're in for a treat. The AI overclocking stuff actually works too. You're going to want to find OC guide tho. There's lots of fan headers so thats good if you want to fill your case with fans. I also like it has a 20gb USB header. That works perfect for the H9 case.Do keep in mind that lane sharing is a thing. Basically if you put anything in one of the top m.2 slots, the PCIE/GPU slot will go from x16 to x8. And if you put anything in one of the lower m.2 slots, the second PCIE slot gets completely disabled. This is apparently a thing with all newer motherboards across brands.Board quality is good. And for the price it better. I paid the ROG tax on this because my last rig was an asus and lasted me 10 years. Hopefully this new build lasts the same or longer.im trying to find negatives, but i cant atm. overall im happy with this mobo. :)
