These have worked well so far with no issues. We've had them for moderate use to help with getting all of the extra rocks out of our soil and to find the debris left over from the construction of the house. It has been very helpful with that. We have also used it to wash the good soil through it to locate the earthworms and transfer them to areas we are rehabilitating.

I realized over the course of this Summer that I'm going to have to go through most of our landscape rock and sift out a lot of dirt because there are a lot of opportunistic plants that have taken hold and I am sick of trying to pull them out throughout the summer. My first attempt at this was to dig out a bunch of rock and lay it out on the patio and try to spray the dirt off of it and that it was a long slow and fairly painful process that ended up taking weeks worth of my spare time for only about 2 to 3 ft of Rock. I ordered these sifters as a way to try to speed up the process that my daughter and I use them last night on part of the driveway that has been attracting a lot of weeds and though it was still a slow process it was much faster than trying to spray the dirt out.We ended up working kind of as an assembly line and I got the bigger rocks separated out and then a lot of the organic matter that was too big to go through the holes then she went through with the finer Steve to get the smaller driveway rocks out and we were left with a dirt sand mix that we were able to add to our compost pile.I imagine when I do landscape rocks I'll only use the large hole sieve because I don't need to save the small rocks, if we end up doing another round to sift out small rocks those can go into the driveway.

Very nice sifter set.We have used them in the sand searching for shark teeth. The set works great together or separate.Wet and dry sand goes through them both very easily leaving behind the treasures!Very pleased with the set! Nice quality and seem to be holding up very nicely in both salt and fresh water environments.

These are well made stainless steel sifters. I have another set but the diameter is smaller and I have wished more than once that they fit a standard 5 gallon bucket, and now these do, so yay! They are really sturdy, I strained some clay gravel pellets and the sifter did not flinch at the weight.If I could have a wish or two, 1) an additional sifter with a smaller opening size for smaller sand-sized particles and 2) a wider lip or simple wing type handle on the sides for picking it up from the bucket. It fits almost too well, and is a little tricky to lift from the bucket without spilling some of the contents. I may slip some rope or wire through to fashion a simple handle myself.Even so, these are handy and well made and I'll be getting a lot of use out of them!Update: Used the larger mesh today cleaning out the chicken coop, the only thing is still that I need to devise a simple handle but other than that it works great!

If you work with plants and used crushed rock in the plant container for stability and drainage these screens make it easy to recover. There are 2 mesh sizes, 1/4 and 1/8 inches and are about 2 inches deep and sit right on top of 5 gallon buckets. I also use them when I need to wash automotive, lawnmower and trimmer parts. I also put a finer screen on top of the 1/4 inch size to filter sand blast media. They are made from thick screening material and have a sturdy, smooth metal frame that easily supports heavy soil. You probably can think of many other uses for them. For 20 bucks they just might be one of your most useful tools.

Slow but steady progress To Re landscape the backyard. This is a nice way to remove plants that don’t want to regenerate.Takes time but also allows me to keep within the green waste restrictions. Nice to have 2 and they fit out buckets nicely.
