Better than paper filter.
This stainless steel filter has been a great upgrade for my AeroPress. It produces a fuller cup of coffee compared to paper filters, with more oils and richness coming through. The flavor feels bolder and more complete, and I like not having to keep buying disposable filters. It’s sturdy, easy to clean, and fits the AeroPress perfectly. A quick rinse after use is usually all it takes, and it’s ready to go again. It also makes the whole setup more travel-friendly since I don’t have to pack paper filters along with it. Durable, reusable, and better-tasting coffee—definitely worth it over paper.

Works great.
I love this little guy. Ive been using the Aeropress for a year now with the included paper filters and always wanted to see if i was missing anything by not using a reusable filter. So I bought this filter and I'm glad I did. I wouldn't say that the coffee is better when I use this filter vs the paper. I would say its just a different style.... like it has little more depth to the taste. I like the 'fine' filter cause it really does keep almost all the grinds out. When I use this filter and i'm at the last sip of my coffee I can see a thin circle of silt at the bottom of my cup about the size of a nickel. I like to swirl my cup to mix the silt with the rest of the coffee and then savor the last sip.mmmm then I cant wait till tomorrow to have another cup! Also just so you know, this filter is really thin. It fits great on the Aeropress and creates a good seal. Because it's so thin it is kinda on the fragile side. I can see someone bending this filter if they are not mindful of it. It feels well engineered and would not consider this a design flaw but rather a character trait of this filter.

Will save me a ton of paper filters
These two stainless steel filters are two more pieces to my AeroPress Coffee Erector Set. I look forward to the many different ways I plan to explore using these filters. (In the future: I plan to see how well they brew using AeroPress Instructions.) Pros: * Both filters brew a decent cup of coffee * I would expect that following the directions with proper equipment, coffee beans, and water that you could duplicate a perfect cup of coffee using these filters * Packaging also serves as storage case with the fine and coffee filter along with instructions for use given. One for each filter. * Both filters are well machined and instructions let us know which end goes up. * Contrary to what I was hearing about these filters they were fairly easy to clean. I just pulled the coffee back into AeroPress with just filter exposed and then slide filter off sideways as to strip the clinging wet coffee beans to the press and not on the filters. After that I used one drop of dishwashing fluid, to filter, rubbed between my hands lightly and ran under hot water from tap while doing this. Filter came out clean and free of debris. * These are flat and fit well in AeroPress * No problem brewing with either Fine or Regular filter. Cons: * Filters only come with only brewing instructions for one each, where we are referred to website for more, yet none exist there. * Medium grind is required for both regular and fine filters. * Instructions for Fine Filter brew call for use specialized coffee scale. * On arrival filters had light scratches and one hole was plugged with debris making me think that maybe I had used filters. * No instructions for Espresso Shot Brew given on website or with filters, and was actually primary reason for getting filters. Last Note: Holes on these filters are conical so be sure to have label up when putting in your AeroPress filter cap and you'll be fine. Yes I'd buy these again and recommend to a friend. If you have any questions leave them below and I'll do my best to answer or find you someone that can. Thank you.

For Aeropress THIS is the filter to get, hands down.
Been using it steadily since I got it, the fine mesh performs fantastic and unlike the paper filters, lets the oils in the coffee pass through for your enjoyment. It cleans easily and after the first couple of times you'll adapt to both removing it and fitting it in the filter house to use. Unlike the paper filters which would "fight" letting liquid pass through with the finer grinds, the Able's handled everything I've thrown at it even up to Turkish fineness, letting the brew pass through with a steady, ordinary downward pressure. Very durable despite being such a thin and porous metal, but I'd suggest a little care in handling it just to remain on the safe side. Besides the better taste of the coffee, it eliminates you ever having to worry about running low on the paper filters as well as their expense. Cleanup is as simple as rinse and run a dishcloth/sponge over each side and you're done, not quite as convenient as discarding it with the grind puck but I'll take that trade off for what I've gained without hesitation.

This filter and the Aeropress are a perfect travel companion.
The Able FINE filter easily replaces the paper filter for me. I've been using the present one for about 10 years on a daily basis. No extra care needed to clean ; just rinse. It's never clogged. It does not filter every bit of residue as the paper one. But for some darker roasted coffees, the added volatile oils that passes through add a rich yummy taste and mouth feel. For Lighter and Fruit forward coffees the paper filter maybe a better choice. So for me, it's not one Or the other. I use the inverted method of brewing (never had a problem with tipping over). Screw the filter on, let it infuse for a couple minutes, tip it over on to cup and press. (tip over sink first, if you want to get rid the intial sediment). Buying another one for the travel set.

Use it on my aeropress with paper filter too. Makes great cups. No grounds observed.

Great, affordable, reusable, durable filter for the AeroPress coffee/espresso maker. I grind my beans quite finely with a Barista burr grinder and this filter keeps any coffee sediment from passing through. Highly recommended if you do not want to keep using the paper filters.

Coming back to review this after nearly 6 years and it's still going strong. I cannot fathom how much I've saved from using this rather than buying paper filters, definitely paid for itself. Super light, durable, easy to clean. Really couldn't ask for more. I like nice coffee, but I'm not a full James Hoffmann level connoisseur, so I couldn't comment on what types and profiles of coffee this works best with. What I can say is it just works. I've taken it to offices, camping, on hikes. I've never been worried about damaging it, I've never had a problem with it clogging. This should be the first thing you buy after buying an aeropress to be quite honest. One coffee-snobbish thing I might add is, I believe with this filter being metal (as opposed to the paper ones that come with the aeropress) it allows more of the coffee oils into the end cup. To me this is actually a bonus, since it adds that very slightly thicker mouthfeel and a greater depth of flavour. One thing I had issues with early on was finding it very hard to press the coffee through: there is a front and back! For me I have to make sure the text on the disk is facing down when the brewer is sat on a cup.

This was added to a gift of an aeropress for my aunt who loves coffee. This disk worked great to hold back most particulate, and was very similar in brew quality to the included paper filters, if not better. Some replacement metal filters for the aeropress can make it a real workout just to get a cup of joe, but not this one. She said that it was no harder to depress the plunger than with the paper filters, which is great because she has mild arthritis in her hands. She goes on hiking trips and wanted a reliable, reusable filter that could help her eliminate waste, and this was perfect!
