Very thick shampoo
This shampoo comes nicely packaged and has a lovely smell. I love that it's sulphate free and can even be used every day if needed. There were a couple of things that I wasn't so keen on though. It's very thick and gloopy. It says on the bottle to mix well before use, but it's so thick that this is not easy to acomplish. I also found that it was a bit of a struggle to get it out through the dispenser and I ended up taking the top off.In use, it dosen't lather very well and takes quite a bit of shampoo to get good coverage, so you might get through it a bit quicker than some others. It also takes quite a bit of rinsing out, probably as it's quite heavy. However, after use it does leave your hair feeling nice and hopefully protected by all the good stuff in there. As I have my hair coloured quite frquently I have high hopes that this will protect both the colour and give my hair a bit of a boost.

Nice ingredients, but doesn't lather up enough to clean hair. Had to wash mine 3 times.
This Italian brand Puradoro shampoo, for protecting coloured hair, contains the sort of ingredients I would tend to look for in a shampoo. It’s gentle on the hair, and includes calming and soothing aloe vera, antifungal and antibacterial orange peel oil, nourishing and restorative bergamot oil and argan oil, hair smoothing keratin, and exfoliating lactic acid. My husband recently tried the anti-dandruff shampoo by the same brand, which I thought contained far more botanicals than this variant, it lathered up much better too. My hair is very long, and the shampoo seemed to have run out of oomph by the time I got to the back of my scalp. I ended up having to wash my hair 3 times for it to feel clean all over. I couldn’t really detect any fragrance when using it either. Before using this shampoo, shake the bottle really well to mix up the ingredients. You’re supposed to do an initial shampoo to remove any grease and grime. Rinse thoroughly, then repeat the wash, this time massaging the shampoo into the scalp for 2-3 minutes, before rinsing again. For best results use this shampoo 2-3 times per week. If required, follow with a conditioner from either this brand, or whatever conditioner you prefer. Use more often for oily hair, or less often for dry hair. The lid on the bottle has a very unusual design, which is so simple to use when you have wet hands. It’s a bit like the long and short flush buttons on a toilet cistern. If you press the small button, the larger button pops up, allowing you to squeeze out the desired amount of shampoo from the bottle. To close the bottle when you’ve finished, you just push the larger button down flat. The button action is very smooth and easy. Once opened, the product has a 12 month shelf life. There was also a best before date of almost 2 years left on the bottle I tested.Based on having to wash my hair 3 times, and there be less botanicals in this colour control shampoo, I probably wouldn’t be tempted to buy it again. I’ve used much better shampoos than this, that are available at a lower price. It does leave my hair looking nice after I’ve dried it, but it feels like my hair gets greasy faster than usual. It’s a shame, as the anti-dandruff version of this shampoo is brilliant, but I don’t suffer from dandruff. If you do, I would certainly recommend that variant, just not this one so much.

Smells lovely, squeaky clean hair.
If you're not used to using shampoos that are sulphate-free you may find this unusual to use. It dispenses* as a nice thick, clear gel which smells lovely. I spread it over my hands and distributed it through my hair - it is a different washing experience as it doesn't lather up - that's the job the sulphates play, but they're only there to make the shampoo bubbly. and serve no hair-care purpose. It made my hair feel squeaky clean - but definitely in need of conditioning to get the best out of it. I used the conditioner from the same range and between them they treated my hair nicely - it dried nice and smoothly and felt fine and silky for the day.I personally prefer to use products with fewer unnecessary additives so I'm very happy with this cruelty-free range.*the lid is an odd design. I initially thought it was a pump action as you press on the back half of the lid and it depresses downwards. However, that just opens the nozzle on the front section, so you need to turn the bottle upside down and squeeze out your product. I have joint issues and found the bottle a bit hard to squeeze as it is quite firm, so it would be nice if they could address the dispensing action in future.

Unable to use
The media could not be loaded. This was an additional order of this product for my daughter who has vivid coloured hair and wanted a shampoo specifically for colour control. She returned it to me today as she is unable to figure out how to use it…now I had ordered the yellow control version and I had the same problem she was encountering but couldn’t figure out what the problem was, and just put it down to a faulty bottle??So between us we think we’ve figured it out…we opened the top and turned the inner long plastic tongue upside down, which then enabled the back button to be pressed down, but it’s not pump action, it just raises the front to bring up the opening for the shampoo to be dispensed…the bottle now has to be held upside down to squeeze out the shampoo. 🙄I’m thinking on a £22 bottle of shampoo this can’t be the intended way of dispensing? After squeezing the shampoo drips down the inside and outer bottleneck, not a good look from the purple shampoo…the purple fully closes after use but the coloured now won’t close fully at the front??It’s honestly going to be easier to just screw the lid of all together and squeeze the shampoo out…same way you’d dispense any similar plastic bottle!
