The most beautiful light, but don't forget the special speedring!
This is my new favorite softbox. I have a great Chimera Octabank 3', but the depth of this is an improvement on something I thought was already perfect. soft but directional light, and the depth eliminates any danger of hotspots. You really do need the special Rotalux speed ring. The assembly of this is unlike any octabank I've had before. And if you use Profoto, absolutely do NOT get the cheaper speed ring that is made for the B1/B2.

Awesome light, but expensive and very hard to assemble
I read that these assemble in six minutes... for me that was not the case by any stretch. It took about three days for this to stretch out, just so I could finally pop the last pin in place. To get it mostly assembled took about two hours. Now the re-assembly time takes about a minute or two, but at this price point, the octabox should come preassembled with the adaptor ring.The good part is that as far the character of the light is concerned, this is probably one of the best modifiers for portraits or fashion ever made. Whenever, I look into the gear my favorite fashion photos are taken with, the Rotolux Deep Octabox, comes up almost every single time, and with good reason. It has a nice character with defined shadows, featuring a smooth even fall off, so they don't look harsh. It's just a very flattering spread of light.
