Also a pocket or two would have been nice. My Xt12G fits perfect and the straps are ...
Way overpriced but what are you going to do. Also a pocket or two would have been nice. My Xt12G fits perfect and the straps are counterbalanced to account for the weight of the base mirror. All in all I'm glad I got it.

Pros and Cons
I purchased this item from Orion because let's face it, the bag is created specifically for the 12" Orion dobsonians and if you buy a 12" dob this is your best option.I will agree with another poster about the straps not being ideal. First of all, this 50-pound Optical Tube Assembly (OTA) isn't something that you want to just parade around. You will find yourself going through great lengths to safely carry your OTA. I end up carrying the base of the tube in one hand at my waist, and holding the straps (wrapped two or three times around my wrist) in my other hand neck or chest high. This is the position that I must take when traversing through my home, which has 90 degree turns and stairs much like many other homes. Also, as previously mentioned, the bulk of the roughly 50-pound OTA rests in the bottom end of the tube (due to the primary mirror), so having two straps between one end and the middle of the bag isn't very practical (unless you want to drag one end of your $1,000 telescope across the ground as you walk). Something like smaller, shorter straps near the front and the rear of the bag would have been much more useful, or perhaps even a compact shoulder harness. Pretty much anything would have been better than the generic straps on the bag.Speaking of the straps, I managed to rip one nearly halfway off because I didn't realize in the dark that I was not grabbing both straps simultaneously. I would like to think that there should be a generous amount of added seam-work to ensure that no damage finds its way to my expensive telescope. It seems as though the designers spent very little time thinking about the effectiveness of this bag or had very little time to do so.In the end, it's not all bad. I have found that the outside of the bag will collect lots of moisture, whereas the inside never seems to dew up at all. This is a nice attribute when I am getting ready to stow my scope and I don't have to worry about a lot of moisture inside of my bag. Of course, you should always make sure that the inside of your bag is dry, especially if it has been raining or fogging. The quality of the case material itself feels very nice and cushioned, although I still tip-toe around when carrying the scope to avoid damaging it and/or the collimation.I would recommend that Orion not sell this bag separately, but instead include it with the purchase of the scope and knock the bag price down. If the purchaser should decide to decline the bag, he/she should be allowed a discount on the scope price.Ultimately I would rate the bag as four stars, but because I have had and continue to have problems with the straps, I will give the overall product three(or three and a half) stars.
