Incredible, intuitive and layman friendly
The author has done an astounding job at distilling the essence and complexities of the topic into a format that is almost child’s play. At first this book for me was a supplementary read whilst I did the fast.ai course, but since has become the main focus and resource for learning. Thank you Andrew for bringing this topic to the layman and propelling me Into this field.

Technical books should all be like this one
The most fun & interesting technical book I have ever read. Bhargava makes such an excellent job making it understandable, easy to read and digest and fun to learn at the same time. Beautifully written book!

Excellent
Really good at explaining core concepts and very carefully written. I haven't been coding along as the book suggests but still learning lots.

Most Disapointing
Most disappointing. Does not deserve even one star ! I do not know anybody who can program and who cannot understand a mathematical equation. Surely, if one can understand or write alpha and delta in a Python equation, does know his/her (math or Greek) symbols. Here you have a book which introduces a matrix in Chapter 3 (p41 - a list of vectors is called a matrix) and then gives you an example in Chapter 6 (p103). In between, you multiply matrices using Python language, of course without understanding what exactly you are multiplying ! . On page 233, you have "a vector is a one-dmensional tensor. A matrix is a two-dimensional tensor, and higher dimensions are referred to as n-dimensional tensors." A dictionary could not have been more explicit in circular explanation. And all this is supposed to be for people who just still remember their high school math !In my opinion, the book would have been better with each chapter including some maths - as an appendix or otherwise, followed by the why and the Python code. As it is, all the book shows that the author can write Python code. The only good advice I have taken from this book is on page 295: "Start another deep learning course" and "Grab a mathy deep learning textbook". Very expensive advice, I would say, given the price of the book.I bought this book following the good reviews on Amazon, on the undertanding of the title "Grokking..." but I am most disappointed with the book contents. Not even worth a star !

Simply and easily explained...
I don't have a comp science or maths degree, I'm a marketer. This book is written in such a way that's it's easy to grasp as well as simple to practically do! Definitely the best intro book to deep learning I've read and the notebooks make it properly practical. 💯

Complex concepts explained from the ground up
Andrew has a fantastic writing style. He explains complex concepts from the ground up using examples an enthusiastic amateur can understand. I was inspired by his blog on neural networks (combined with youtube videos from Schiffman) to dig deeper into ai which is a truly fascinating topic
