Riedel Bar Ouverture Tequila Glass, Set of 2: These are very nice - I’d say five star glasses. They’re just not what they claim to be. Riedel offers two styles of glass for Tequila - one with and one without a stem. What I ordered does not have a stem but what I got does. It is a flawless, well balanced glass. The size and shape are similar to a Champagne flute if the bowl were inverted and they offer an elegance to the experience. I think it’s a little cheesy that the name ‘Riedel’ is etched on the base. That’s something I would expect from a glass that comes free with a bottle of booze or one lifted from a hotel bar after a night of indiscretion - not on an elegant, high end piece. But what-evs. I appreciate the subtleties of Fine Tequilas. It will be interesting to see what this glass does for the experience. Not exactly what I ordered, but nice enough to keep.

I can't be the only person thinking this: what's with the stem? Ok, so, I'm relatively new to the world of fine tequilas, but I've decided to go full-on and get the best. I have tried tequila in caballitos (the traditional thin shot glass), conaqueros (cognac snifter) both big and small, traditional rocks glass, white wine glass, etc. I have a couple of glasses that are shaped almost identical to the riedel as well. I have to admit, tequila smells and tastes better in these glasses than anything else. 2nd place: small conaquero. They are, in terms of flavor, everything one would expect from Riedel. stick your nose in there and you smell every hint of every aroma. You want to enjoy your tequila for all it's worth: this is your glass. HOWEVER: couldn't they have made it stemless? The stem adds a certain femininity to the presentation that I think isn't becoming of a tequila...maybe that's just me.

Beautiful set of glasses but the neck and stem are not quality and the slightest tipover of the glass breaks the entire stem off the glass cleanly as if put together as separate pieces of glass. Down one, but I'm the only one sippin'!

If you praise yourself of knowing about Tequila, you definitely need to buy this glasses. The Tequila tastes different here. The aroma comes like a punch to the nose, and if you swirl your glass enough time, you can certainly smell more aromas after excessive alcohol has evaporated. The feel in the hand is definitely of a glass for enthusiasts at most, but the brand and the novelty make up for the lower grade quality. Awesome as a gift!!!!
