The Sun Mousse - SFP 20 Sun Cream - Instant 6 Hour Protection - Non Sticky, Waterproof, Gentle on Skin, Fragrance free

The best and most effective sun cream I have ever used.it’s unfragranced so suitable for sensitive skins. Unlike other sun creams it absorbs into the skin so no visible residue on the skin. It lasts even when you go for a swim. Lasts up to 5 hours so great to use on kids. It was developed for ex cancer patients skin so is great for all skin types. The foamy nature makes it easy to spread and apply. Only negative is that the can can get low in propellant gas before all the product is out of the can.

Have been using this product for over 20 years, having had it recommended by an Australian. My husband has super sensitive skin, having once been a red head. But with this product can actually sit in the sun without burning. It goes on so easily being a mousse and only needs to be applied morning and afternoon. Can't speak highly enough of Sun mousse.

The Sun Mousse (previously called Proderm/Bergaderm) is the best sun protection I've ever found.It doesn't rub or wash off easily - so doesn't need re-applying as frequently.In our experience, it provides much better protection than other 'water resistant' creams with the same theoretical SPF, as other creams are so easily rubbed off just lying on a towel, and by swimming costume straps and seams etc. whereas the mousse is absorbed into the skin and stays effective for longer.It is good for sensitive skin - I know 2 people with eczema who swear by it.And it is not sticky or greasy, not fragranced, and pleasant to apply.There are some disadvantages:It is expensive - but lasts well so it's better value than it looks.It isn't easy to get hold of - Amazon is the easiest place at the time of writing.And if you go back to 'normal' suncreams, you risk getting burnt if you assume they will stay on like this mousse!The formulation has changed recently (2014), and this new one is a slightly lighter mousse, but seems to be just as effective and skin friendly. If you're spending a lot of time in strong sun, and/or have skin that burns very easily, I would strongly recommend this product, especially for young children.

I'll post this review against 3 products we bought together as the feedback is the same for factor 20, 30 and children's 50. We've been using this mousse for over 4 years now under various names. It's become increasingly difficult to buy and Boots don't stock it anymore. There were several factors that brought us back to this time and time again. Ease of application, lack of greasiness and that it just used to last for a long time, each can would last almost a whole week on holiday. All of those benefits have now disappeared. This new formula seems much lighter, almost flyaway - you end up dropping the very light mousse on the floor in lumps, it's easy enough to pick up though. We found that, instead of soaking in nicely and leaving no residue, it now coats you in a greasy film that is not at all sweat resistant and runs into your eyes. My wife and I were left with sore eyes on a number of occasions, something we've never had before. The cans just don't seem to last either. 2 and a half days for 2 of us and a can was gone. We applied in the same manner we always have done. Given that all the good things have gone, I cannot recommend this product anymore. I'm gutted as the search now has to start for an alternative. 2 stars awarded as it certainly still works as a sun cream, but they pretty much all do that.

Wow! Finally after years of suffering from severe prickly heat I have found a suntan cream that doesn't react badly to my skin. I have now had TWO prickly heat FREE holiday and got a great tan.As soon as I returned from my last holiday I ordered another one bottle and have recommended it to other people. The mousse is light and non greasy and easy to apply. The rash usually appears on day 3 of my holiday and I have spent hundreds of pounds over the last 20 years trying to find a solution and so I cannot tell you the relief I felt when day 4 arrived and I was still rash free! Sun Mousse has changed my holidays for the future. I hope it works for you.

Have used this product for a number of years. Initially bought for my son who cannot use anything else due to eczema and similar products on the market causing skin irritation. So easy to apply, waterproof and non greasy, gives great protection. Now use for the whole family and wouldn’t consider buying anything else.

I’ve used this for years and must say never been sunburnt it works well for allMy grandson has eczema and it’s very very good for him all our family use it

I have been using this product since 2009 when I had started to get terrible heat rash. I realised after investigation that I was having a reaction to a chemical in the sun tan lotion and one that's contained in Nivea creams. Never had a problem since using this apart from when I bought some Nivea cream as a body lotion on holiday in 2013 and it came backs with a vengeance. I love this product it goes on easily lasts for ages and smells lovely. 10/10 from me
