What a great book easy to follow and the patterns are great

Good price, nice plans, easy to follow, nice colours to follow, a very good addition to your own library, very interesting.

Bit disappointed. There are instructions on how to carve one character, then just pictures of the rest. The author suggests cutting the main bulk of the piece with a band saw. I wouldn't say it's great for an absolute beginner.

i bought the book for my husband and he has been very happy with the instruction as the illustrations/photos were so good that he could follow without having to read so he could get stuck ing immediately. He has already started coming up with his own designs.

A really help book with loads of information not only on the figures but painting and carving them too.

You can use this book as a tutor for creating great country folk step by step. I enjoyed this book very much, recommended by me.

Beautiful book well laid out designs lovable characters, was all set to start whittling away so I read the first page, what you need. Now bought myself some lovely carving knives some whittling wood thought I had a pretty good start, then I saw it first item you need is a band saw. I thought shucks the neighbours will really love me as I live in a block of flats. So my advice is buy the book if you've got a workshop or a garage and plenty of cash for a band saw. Hence the three stars, but I've kept the book it's so cute lol, it should state you need a band saw in the advert though, hope you find this helpful.

Well illustrated and with great content!

Es macht Spaß die Figuren nachzuschnitzen.Besonders nett ist, dass jede Figur einen Namen hat und mit individuellem Charakter und Familienbezug beschrieben wird. Die Anleitung ist nicht schwierig aber für absolute Anfänger doch etwas zu herausfordernd. Ich werde mir auf alle Fälle weitere Bücher von Mike Shipley zulegen.

1 personnage détaillé sculpture + peinture et photos plus peinture et "patterns" pour les autresDimension des bois environ 6 cm et des longueurs différentes pour chaque personnage. Prévoir les bonnes dimensions de morceaux de bois pour faciliter la réalisation et l'utilisation des patterns. Les modèles indiqués sont à agrandir pour certains ce qui complique leur utilisation.Le rendu n'est jamais exactement comme sur les photos mais c'est normal, cela vient de l'apprenti "sculpteur" que je suis et cela rend les objets unique. Au final content de mon achat.
