Fancy Nancy and the Butterfly Birthday

We are such fans of Fancy Nancy, she is a wonderful little character that introduces more complex phrases and words to children. The images are incredibly detailed and the cover is tactile with glitter attached. Bound to be a hit with princesses! This one tells the story and drama! of Nancy and her friends party, which she is unable to attend but she goes on to have an adventure herself. Suitable for 4+

I believe this is the third full-size Fancy Nancy book, and is as good as the others. Again, the book is well presented (even in softback), coated in glitter, illustrated to a very high standard and easy to read.In this episode, Nancy explains her love of butterflies, and is invited to her best friend's butterfly themed party. There is then a major change of plan, which leads to a lot of disappointment for Nancy, until she finds other things to be pleased about.The thinking behind each episode is very good, and the illustration is particularly strong in conveying Nancy's emotions and behaviour. Best of all, the stories go well beyond the running gags on French vocabulary and her dress sense. One constant theme for the adult reader is the richness of the characters and the numerous hints at Nancy's family background and life.Strongly recommended, but best if you have Fancy Nancy and Fancy Nancy & Posh Puppy first.

Lovely book but it arrived dog eared and with black dirt smudges on front and back. It is a gift so not sure I can gift it now.

Excellent! Fancy Nancy books are always a delight to read with children,

I bought two of the Fancy Nancy books, based on other reviews, but my daughter was not impressed. The books are for 4-5 year olds, but whilst the illustrations are great the story it self was rather short. Have decided to give the books away, as in my case they would be a waste for my 5 year to keep.

I bought this Fancy Nancy book second hand as we already have one Fancy Nancy book . This book is in good condition and great value. I also bought Fancy Nancy and the Posh Puppy to go with it. My daughter loves them.

We got this book to add to our growing collection of FN stories, and were not disappointed. Another lovely story.
