Lila 18-inch Doll & Journal (Girl of The Year 2024)

I absolutely love this doll. Lila was my first brand new American Girl doll I’ve had since I was 9 years old and I absolutely love her. As an adult collector, I think she’s an adorable doll and I love dressing her up in anything pink. The best way to take care of her hair is by lightly brushing it or just running your fingers through it. If you do end up buying her I hope you end up loving her just as much as I do!

This American Girl doll is absolutely adorable. The product quality is well worth the money spent on the doll. Her hair is soft, her little freckles on her face are so realistic. My daughter totes her doll around everywhere, she’s so durable!

Lila is absolutely beautiful! Her facial features are detailed...freckles are adorable. Was excited to give this as a gift. Now, for the negative... the shipping is absolutely unacceptable. It does not matter that it's Christmas time...there is no excuse to not properly protect the item for the shipping process. The actual American Girl box was damaged and there were tears in different areas on the front of the box. No packing peanuts or packing paper was in the box to prevent this. Again, unacceptable and could have been prevented. I will not take away stars because the doll deserves a five star review. Do better in protecting people's purchases, please.

Lila (Girl of the Year 2024) is an absolutely gorgeous American Girl doll. Her unique amber-brown eyes that open and close are stunning, and her honey brown hair with blonde highlights is thick, shiny, and easy to style. I adore her cute freckles, which give her so much personality. She’s wearing a custom Juicy Couture outfit made just for her, and it fits her style perfectly. I’m beyond happy with this doll—she’s beautiful in every way. Highly recommend, 10/10! 💖✨

I purchased this as my little one kept asking for one. I didn't think she would play with it as she is a Barbie girl. She loves it!! Perfect condition, came quickly, and love that I can purchase accessories that are budget friendly as the 18 inch doll stuff is perfect for her!

My granddaughter was over the moon with her new doll for Christmas....AG dolls and accessories are well made and darling!

Hair was great and watched you tube tutorial on how to change it

This doll is grand. This is the whole package :) And it, of course, starts with the package. And it doesn't stop there. The face is the beautiful Josephina face. And the combination of the caramel hair with highlights (or blond with caramels streaks?) and those eyebrows and freckles - this is one smart design move, which is difficult to resist. So if you are in that feeble emotional state, steer clear, it will be difficult to stop with just the doll. With all that wonderful, there are two things I am not all too excited about. The top is of the same appalling quality the WellieWisher Kendal has to wear - the metal thread in the fabric really ruins it. It scratches and feels unpleasant to touch. And then there is the hair. I suspect this is the hair that most people will call textured and be fine with it. But, in fact, this lack of smoothness and relative thinness make this hair mess up immediately. One change of clothes and you have a mess to deal with. Keep brushing, all I can say. This doll arrived when it was just beginning to get cool outside, so what I witnessed on arrival cannot be fully attributed to this. And what happened was this - we unpacked the doll and when the hair net was removed, the hair felt cooler than it does now and slightly (?) wet... Like, as if some sort of product had been applied to the hair and had not dried completely, as if the doll was rushed through production. Quite possibly, just imagination playing up, but that felt just different. I had a very strong inclination to wash that hair and maybe I will, just on the ends. PLEASE NOTE - you cannot really wash the hair as the water might get into the eyes and ruin them. Also, the hair is the wig so the base will get wet and will take ages to dry. These are amazing dolls but you have to handle them with a lot of care, so, if like myself, you are tempted to wash the hair, think one more time. And - a DISCLAIMER - it might have been just this one batch of dolls that had this hair surprise, hopefully, other buyers will share a different story. Even our situation could be rectified by letting the doll sit in the warmth of the room. But keep the dolls away from extreme temperatures, they are vinyl and it is not an 'innocent' component. But the doll is beautiful! It will appeal to both, children and grown-ups and it does bring that wow factor!
