✨ Quicksilver by Callie Hart – A Spellbinding Romantasy That Stole My Heart! ✨
✨ Quicksilver by Callie Hart – A Spellbinding Romantasy That Stole My Heart! ✨This was my first book by Callie Hart, and after seeing all the hype on BookTok, I knew I had to give it a shot. Let me tell you—it did not disappoint! While the beginning starts a bit slow, once the story hits its stride, it completely took over my life.💫 Saeris Fane is Everything. 💫Saeris is a breath of fresh air in the fantasy genre—strong-willed, scrappy, persistent, and undeniably real. She’s a survivor through and through, navigating a world of magic with a secret gift that unfolds in a way that feels organic rather than overdone. Yes, she’s powerful, but she never falls into the clichéd “Chosen One” trope. I also adored her snark and sass—she knows how to throw a verbal punch without coming off as childish. Saeris has easily become one of my favorite FMCs, and I can’t wait to see her grow in Book 2!🔥 Kingfisher. Oh. My. Gods. 🔥Intimidating. Dangerous. Sexy. He treated Saeris horribly without any explanation. But as the story unfolds, we get glimpses of his fierce loyalty, protectiveness, and selflessness. There’s nothing he wouldn’t do for the people he loves. Seeing him through Saeris’ eyes (since the story is told in single POV) made his character arc even more compelling. I fell for him right alongside her. The only thing I wasn’t completely in love with? His name. I mean, Kingfisher is literally a bird. But after doing some research, I realized the name might be foreshadowing—kingfishers in literature symbolize the rise and fall of civilizations. And let me tell you, that is very relevant to this story. Still, I'm not a fan of the name...❤️🔥 The Romance ATE. ❤️🔥Enemies-to-lovers? Check. Unbearable tension? Check. Banter that had me kicking my feet? Check, check, check! Almost every interaction between Saeris and Fisher had me screaming in the best way possible. The chemistry between them is electric—you never know if they’re about to fight or rumble the sheets, and I was living for it. Saeris tries to mask her attraction with snark, but Fisher turns it right back on her, leaving her hot and bothered every time. And when they finally give in? Whew. The spice is pages and pages of open-door, explicit, absolutely delicious goodness. And Fisher’s dirty talk? Superior! But it’s not just about the steam—the emotional depth got me, too. The way Fisher calls her little Osha? Butterflies. 🦋 The moment when he places her hand on his heart so she can feel it beat for her? Tears. And the note?! I was emotionally wrecked—in the best way.✨ An Addictive, Action-Packed Plot ✨From the heart-pounding opening scene—Saeris on the run from the Queen’s guard—the story never slows down. There’s always something happening, whether it’s political intrigue, intense fight sequences, or Saeris training to harness her power. The balance between romance and world-building is perfect, keeping me fully invested in both. And that ending?! 😱 I did not see those twists coming. My heart was ripped out, thrown across the room, and set on fire. Callie Hart, how dare you—but also, thank you.📝 A Few Notes:The book is long, and the beginning takes a little time to settle in—but trust me, it’s worth it. Every detail adds depth to the world and characters. If you’re like me and need about 10% of a fantasy book to know if it’s for you, stick with it. You’ll be obsessed before you know it.🌟 Final Thoughts:Quicksilver is a phenomenal romantasy that had me swooning, screaming, and utterly obsessed. If the rest of the series keeps this energy, it may become one of my all-time favorites. The only downside? We have to wait a whole year for Book 2. But honestly? Callie Hart deserves every bit of success this book is getting. I’m all in for whatever comes next!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5—A MUST-READ and a MUST-LISTEN!I also listened to the audiobook on Audible, and it was phenomenal. The narrators truly brought the characters to life, making the story even more immersive and emotionally gripping. Their voices, tone, and delivery added so much depth, making it feel like I was experiencing the story firsthand. If you’re debating between reading or listening—do both! This audiobook is an absolute standout. Highly recommend! 🎧✨

Your next fae romantasy high!
This book was the perfect next hit for my fae romance obsession that began with ACOTAR. Like many, I wasn't reading much until I finally picked up that book everyone had been talking about. I fell in love with Romantasy and have been chasing that ACOTAR high ever since. This book had me in a chokehold! Once I began falling in love with Kingfisher, it was hard to put it down. I was at work counting down the hours until I could get back to reading. Now that it's over, I can't wait for the sequel to come out. I will be re-reading this one again closer to the sequel release date because this is one I can see reading over and over again! The world building - Callie does a great job building the world and giving details while also keeping action involved so you're not bored. Our FMC finds herself in a bit of a pickle when she steals something she really shouldn't have. Luckily for her, she opens a portal that throws her whole life upside and introduces her to my newest favorite shadow daddy.FMC - Saeris is a badass FMC who can take care of herself and those she loves in her human world. When she finds herself thrust into a new world...she has to learn new rules and figure out how her survival skills can help her survive in a world with fae, vampires, and magic. Unlike us, she doesn't have the luxury of a bunch of fae books to teach her how to act, so she's a bit clueless at times. Not saying I wanted to shake her and be like GIRL! ....but I did.MMC - Kingfisher. Honestly...it's hard to put into words how this MMC makes me feel. He's sassy, angry, and sexy as hell. He's got lots of backstory that plays into his behaviors throughout the entire story. He's the kind of guy who will sacrifice himself to save those he loves and really tries to do what he thinks is best. Just read it....you will love him.Spice - There's not a ton of it throughout the entire series but when it happens - the spice is spicing! Shew! The story was captivating! I loved every minute of it! Honestly, I don't know if I'll make it until closer to the sequel date to read it again. This one has been wanting to do a re-read right away to pick up on more clues and foreshadowing that I'm sure I missed the first time around.

Unput-downable. Callie Hart has created a powerhouse of a cast that I want to see more of
Sometimes you hear an indie author received traditional publication of a beast of a book and you wonder how. This, this book right here is how.Quicksilver is a more than 600 page turner that takes the what ifs of humans and fae existing together, flips it on its head and then throws you for not one loop, not two loops, but turn after turn after turn and you just keep turning the page because you need more. This book made me laugh so many times, it broke my heart, more than once, and it made me fall in love. Its characters are bold and brazen, its spice is delicious and the effects of the fae world mixed with it are beautiful, and the incorporation of lesser fae and their interactions with the FMC are adorable.Rather than being set in completely mythical realms, readers may recognize the realm of the fae as our own, many, many years from now. There’s just a bit of a hint of a timeline early on while Sardis is still in her own world and that stuck with me.As the story progresses it’s easier to get an inkling of what might be on its way and I became very attached to the characters. But let me tell you….that ENDING. Not only was it unexpected, but the tie together right before the last few chapters and then those final two paragraphs had me completely flooded. I literally went “WHAT?!” Out loud at the coffee shop and received several side glances and a chuckle.I’m not much of a fantasy reader but I picked this book up because the quotes people kept sharing kept spiking my attention and every question of “what book is this?” was always answered with Quicksilver. When I say I’ve never tabbed a book so many times in my entire life, I’m not kidding.I’ll be picking up the next book, 100%. And I’ll devour that one too, I’m sure. Now where’s the movie deal?
