Great product for an easy, non-fussy finish
Fantastic product! Easy to use, it worked as advertised, and provided a beautiful, even finish on a cherry nightstand.

Great product, great company!
You just simply can't go wrong. If you haven't used it before, try it once and you'll get it. Great product, great company, pleasant smell, produces a beautiful finish, and has excellent coverage. I've used a variety of finishes like this, and there are a lot of brands popping up now trying to compete, but if it's not something I'm putting Rubio on, it gets Walrus instead, without hesitation.

Super product, easy to apply, looks great
My first time using Walrus Oil Furniture Butter. I applied to a black walnut cradle I made and it was super easy to apply and then buff out. Had one area where the glue hadn't been completely removed so I sanded that down and re-applied Walrus Oil and it's perfect. Love the warm tone on the finished cradle.

Excellent product
Fantastic product! I used it to refurbish an old Stickley table (model 89-713) that I bought from a local store. I first cleaned the table with Lysol and wiped off the dust with a rag. Then I applied Restor-A-Finish (neutral color), followed by Antiquax wax. The table looked good at first, but over time it developed a dull appearance, so I gave up. Later, my nephew accidentally spilled water on it, and I ended up with a white ring. I applied Restor-A-Shine generously and scrubbed until the white ring was gone. The table looked better, but it still felt like something was missing. That’s when I came across this product, recommended to me via AI while I was searching for restoration tips. It does have a slightly odd burned-oil smell, but I applied it anyway. Two months later, the table still looks great—the color has held up wonderfully, and the original tones are more pronounced. I’ll be applying a second coat soon and will update my review accordingly. I am newbie and just trying to bring back the original color and get rid to black oxidation marks and this seem to work

Great simple wood finish
I'd been wanting to try some of these alternative/traditional finishes. Typically I finish most products in either shellac or water-based polyurethane. I'd actually just finished some small Christmas presents, with some getting both of those finishes. I completed one late, shortly after this Walrus Oil arrived, so I can compare directly. Application is easy. This is a wipe on, buff off finish. It takes a while to dry (it says 24 hours) or at least set. Repeat applications can be made after light high-grit sanding. I didn't notice any difference between the stuff given one healthy coat and those given two coats. Since I usually apply multiple coats of shellac/poly, the wait time for this to dry gives me a similar wait before I'm "done." Where shellac/poly gives the finished item a noticeable surface barrier, the walrus oil soaks into the wood. It still feels like bare wood, with a slightly more oily or slick surface. It's a wood polish. Very similar in how it applies and how it feels afterward to linseed oil and other natural, traditional oil wood finishes. There's no smell (or VOCs) that come off this, so it can be applied inside without stinking up the place or requiring respiration. It doesn't take a lot of oil to fully coat and sink into the wood. This little jar should go a long way.
