Exactly what I was looking for just a bit tight
I work at a golf course, up north in Wisconsin, and have many mornings where it is quite chilly and afternoons where it is very warm. These are the perfect balance between light weight but made out of material that I am not afraid would be torn by a branch or any kind of normal wear. They are great at blocking wind and great at being breathable. My only problem is they are a little tight. I’m about 6’ 3” to 6’ 4” and I am a stock 34x34 in almost every pant I have worn. These are definitely a tight cut jean if that makes sense. I don’t mind them being a little tight because I don’t like them to be baggy but the waist and crotch area is a little tight and the zipper for the pants is tight on my upper thigh when I sit. Not a huge problem to where I would return them, but when I order another pair, I will probably go to a 36x34 to fit a little better. I am a skinny/athletic build where the waist has never been a problem fitting into so keep that in mind as well. If you want room just go up on the waist size but the length is perfect. Again perfect product, just a little error on my end. The belt is kind of useless and cheap but it holds up and does it’s job. It at least it helps me save my nice belt nice, would not be at all necessary if the no belt option comes in your size. I will be buying another pair.

Surprised and worth it! 😊
I was in the market for convertible hiking pants for versatility, but I didn't want to pay $100. In addition, I wanted the proper sizing & fit, such as 34Wx30L, and not M.I read the reviews for this item, and although (as some have stated) it makes a swosh sound with every step (it's made with some nylon), it's not terribly loud. The label does say it's made from cotton 64%, nylon 32%, and elastane 4%. It doesn't feel like 64% cotton, but maybe it gets softer & quieter with each wash. This is very lightweight, durable, and has quality workmanship (YKK zippers are used in some high-end luxury bags). I like that it has labels on the zippers (L or R) of the convertible part cuz it makes it really easy & fast to it zip up.I washed this in the washer without issues. It says not to "tumble dry," which I didn't. I hung dry, and it dried itself rather quickly. The waist band took more time cuz it has some elastic in it, which I like for waist flexibility hiking up/down.On the subject of waistline & sizing, if you're in between sizes, such as 33W, and you're endowed (front/back), SIZE UP NOT DOWN. I read some reviews where ppl who were shorter and larger than me by 25+lbs said it would be okay to size down...NOT if you're well endowed & don't like tighter fitting clothes. I sized down to 32W but had to reorder a 34W, which was perfect for me; not too tight, not too loose (didn't need a belt). I highly recommend & will be buying more!! 👍🏻😊

slightly noisy but functional mid-tier set of convertible pants
noticed this had a bit more of a premium than a bunch of the inexpensive options (but not as pricey as the bigger brands like Columbia, REI, OR, etc) - the features sounded really nice for its price point.overall, these are comfy pants and they are not paper thin. I love that they have labelled left/right zip pulls, the cargo pockets in the back and plenty for folding up the zippered off legs (and I can sit on them without any discomfort (in fact I forget they are there after awhile!)).The belt is functional and removable (this is great as I can use the belt on another pair of convertible pants that didn’t come with a belt!). The D hook off one belt loop on the left side looks to be useful but I haven’t discovered it’s ideal use yet - good to know it’s there. They are admittedly a bit “noisy” - now they aren’t anything close to being as noisy as parachute pants but they make noise as you shuffle your legs (even when you’re wearing just shorts which is mostly how I’ve used them for a few weeks) - it’s not loud but it’s enough to know you’re in these pants and not regular pants. And while we are on the topic of noise, the back cargo pockets are velcro. At first I was concerned about the 64% cotton - when I went to hand wash them, they definitely soaked up a lot of water! I was able to wring most of the water out pretty easily and they did come close to dry overnight. You don’t want the cotton in there if drying in just a few hours is what you’re looking for but overall, it’s fast enough not to consider it a negative. Though be prepared to machine wash them - the odor from probably chemicals is pretty strong compared to 4 other pants I tried. most of it goes away after a hand wash and didn’t go completely away after a cold machine wash with a very mild scent-free detergent.I like the mini pocket on the right - it’s small enough to put my car keys in and tight enough that they don’t fall out. This is important because I noticed if I put my car keys into the zippered pocket on the left leg, it felt “too weighty” (like a pendulum) which was uncomfortable so it was good I could move my car fob/keys to the little pocket on the right. The fly zip is a metal zipper and there’s a metal waist button. The material is heavier than other pants but not too heavy - probably means it’s a bit more durable. However, note that according to the seller the TXP-405 (what I got) is 40g *heavier* than the TXP-404 (pay close attention to “color” - it says “lightweight” and one of the images says “TXP-404 travel series” and has hikers in the top of the photo).overall, you get what you pay for and this is a good mid-tier pair of pants. if you pay less, you’re not going to get as many features and if you pay more, the design and construction and quality of materials (and zips!) will go up.UPDATE (9/26/2023): I docked a star because I ultimately went with REI Sahara convertibles: super deep pockets no phone has gone before, full length zips so you don’t have to take yr boots off, color coded pant zips, YKK zippers for durability, no velcro, lighter and more comfortable, 9" short in-seam to prevent rubbing at knees , quicker to dry, and not noisy to walk in! now it didn’t come w a belt but I have both pants so I just use the same belt for both. totally worth the extra 10 bucks. I use my CQRs for work as they clearly seem thicker and save my Saharas for travel and hiking.

Great Quality
Bought these for my husband for when we go hiking. He loves them! They are lightweight but not too thin. When converted to shorts they are not too short and they dry quickly. 10 out of 10!

A little snug on the thighs
These pants breathe really well, and are comfortable when you’re on the move. They’re a little thin but you’ll get that with fast drying materials I wouldn’t expect them to stop any thorns or rough bushes if you plan on walking though deeps woods. All in all I’d say they’re worth the money but I’ll probably get a size up next time because of how close fitting they are on my thighs. They do have nice pockets and are stretchy but I wish the fabric was a little more durable..
