Healthier thickening agent
If you're going to thicken something, wheat is very heavy, both in calories and in taste. Wheat has a flavor in meat gravies this can't match, but if you're watching calories or have a gluten issue, this is a great thickener. Gravies made with this aren't as pretty to look at, but wheat gravies often fail in the home anyway. This has no flavor of its own (that I can taste) so the flavor of what you're thickening always takes precedence. There's no interference with the food's flavor after this thickener is cooked in/out--whatever it's called--after it's no longer white or visible in the au jus/bullion/whatever sauce you're making. This is what is used to make homemade pudding or something like sweet and sour sauce because it has no flavor of its own and doesn't make the sauce look milky. It just tastes . . . clean, once the sauce looks like it's supposed to.Also, if you're doing it right (starting with cool liquid), it's not lumpy to begin with.

Great for sensory crafts!
So i dont use this for actual baking, but if you use one part corn starch to one part water (I start with a cup of each and go from there), it makes a non-newtonian liquid/solid slime concoction that is always a hit for any age. when it's just sitting in a container it is hard like a solid, but if you scoop up a handful, it will ooze out of your hands like slime. My toddler loves it and I do too lolTIP:- If you want to add color, add food coloring to the water before mixing to make the color even.-pour over toys and let kids dig for them-freeze with toys buried and allow the child to hammer them out. We call it digging for fossils

Great for fire breathing!
When sifted this cornstarch ignites well for fire breathing! Makes nice balls of fire!Don't try this unless you learn how to do it properly. Done wrong you can get a thick plug of the stuff in your throat.

Cheap because it is small
I was wondering why it was soo cheap and when I get it, it is smaller than a baking soda box. It is worth the $4.97 but now I try to get more and it is over $13. Definitely not worth the $13. I definitely would buy again but once the price comes down.

Use it more than I think
I used to never use starch and then found recipes that used it and now I find myself using it a lot more than I though I would
