I bought a uv tube and bulb in one. No pump, so i attached it to my pump by tubing and suction cupped it to the side of my pond, under the water. Never light the bulb unless it is under water. So simple and my pond is happy, the fishes are too. Works great. Oh yea, it has a switch giving option on running time. Mine is on 8 hrs in complete sun and the clarity is awesome. Will deffinetly buy again. The cost is inexpensive. The product is top notch!

In two weeks my pond went from not being able to see my fish to crystal clear with no chemicals!!Well it cleared my water but quit working yesterday ! A lot of money for something to only work two weeks ! I would not recommend buying one !

This product has a problem of leaking because the hose connections are frail and easy to break. Replaced those with pump hose adapters I had, and problem solved. Works great now pond is clearing up after a couple of days.

I would like to give you 3 starts great materials ( body stainless steel) but connections to hose plastic very cheep easy to brake there are leaking need use white tape

I have used many types of uv sterallization over the years in fresh and salt water. I was worried that the product did not have a way to tell if the bulb was still working but they cleverly use translucent hose fitting, and you can see the light coming from the in and out ports. Not seeing uv directly, the translucent plastic blocks out uv but passes a cyan light in the visible spectrum that is essentially a waste product when the bulb is in use.

Should have known better. Would give it a zero but not one of my options. Rather than buy a light included in the filter, decided to go separately. The unit arrived, easy to install, looked pretty with its bright chrome case. After 1-1/2 months, noticed the light was not on. Purchased and installed a new bulb, guess what. No light. So what do I have. A nice looking chrome cylinder that does not do what it is suppose to do. Figure I will put it on the fireplace mantle in our great room -- will be a nice talking point when we have visitors. Bottom line -- do not purchase unless you are willing to part with $90.00 in your wallet.

I had a fluval uv on my tank and it stopped working after one year. The bulb is not replaceable where this one is.
