Stable LTE connection, dual LTE/DSL, loads of features
After running some promising tests, I ordered 4G broadband from 3. The Connection Speed was great but the included Huawei router was erratic, had very limited network features and kept on dropping the connection. I wanted to use my DSL as well and the option for dual wan routers with embedded LTE and DSL modems are limited. Other solutions would have involved an LTE modem in bridge mode and dual wan router.I had good experiences with FritzBox so I forked out on the 6890. The Setup was straightforward and the router connected to the 4G network automatically once the SIM was inserted.Wireless is strong enough. I’m using a number of Ethernet linked WiFi routers in the house.LAN is well managed. The router provides a good overview over the whole network. Certain devices can be prioritised, however, the bandwidth on devices cannot be limited individually. Each device can be assigned with a user profile. The Internet can be configured as single, dual, or with one connection serving as fallback to the other.LTE speed is very good with the internal antenna, 110MBs down/40MBs up and the response time is very quick when used after idling, this was a big problem with the Huawei B311s. There is a useful feature which helps with the router placement and alignment. In summary a very good Router with a reliable and fast LTE and DSL Modem with dual wan capability.

German version fine for LTE only in UK
Hi, I'm using LTE only and it's running at aprox 50Mbs in the middle of nowhere. My landline did give me at the most 4Mbs.It's easy enough to get an mains adapter on fleabay for a couple of quid. Can highly recommend it even so it does not integrate with my Devolo adapters which doesn't really matter.Just remembered, bought the half price german edition, not the international one!German version works on LTE only, it will not work on UK landline as it uses different protocol!International covers UK protocol for landline. If you only want LTE get a "3" phone sim card for 20 quid and the German 6890LTE for £180.Never let me down in last 3 months.Sim contract on mobile sim is only 12 months compared to data sim with router and it does exactly the same and saves another £2/month.Only thing I could see as a negative is the latency on 3 could be less. Sometimes when I get on the internet it takes a second to respond. I suppose the mobile signal has to first wake up. After that it's superfast, as I previously said, I get 50Mbs out in the sticks, even so I'm in a black spot and got no signal indoors.Bought an external aerial which I still got to install as 6890LTE works fine on the window sill!3 sim card comes with money back promise, so you can just give them a call and cancel it and it won't cost you a penny!Did it with the data sim and router for £22 to test it as I didn't have a LTE router then.Once I knew I got a signal I just swapped it for a mobile sim and bought the German 6890LTE.Be warned, the software will need updating when you get it out of the box as some issues have been sorted in recent updates.Mine was slower than 3's Huawei at beginning until I installed all updates. Now it's flying along!I'm now surfing 10x faster and paying half as much!Changed landline to post office for £9 a month just so people can still call me on it.Only thing to remember is that 3 is blocking all VPN websites!Gotta use STARTPAGE or the likes to get around it to sign up with VPN.Using currently TUNNELBEAR with out a problem on 3.Best of Luck
