One day I had a thought while cooking. “How amazing would it be to have a battery operated grinder with one button so you could add salt and pepper and other spices with one hand. And how amazing would it be if somehow it was interchangeable?” Then I did a quick search to see if there was something similar to what I had been thinking about and that’s when I found Finamill and they had already created what I was dreaming up. I just love this device when cooking and they bring such spirit into evolving it.

This is a great aid in the kitchen where you want to add salt, pepper or other spice to your cooking. It’s one hand operation, and one hand to switch between spice pods. We love the design and functionality.

Could be a little more powerful

The new 'gear' (used to change the coarseness) is very good. I had 1 of the old ones break while trying to grind salt. These can handle everything I use in them, but be sure to check if this is the right pod for the spice you are trying to use.

I bought this because I couldn't find a Pro pod to replace the one that broke (possibly due to salt corrosion). The description does not say that this pod won't grind salt or pepper but that is what I learned when I bought it. I'm angry about it because of that and also because I'm unable to buy the Pro pod either from Amazon or directly from Finamil, unless I buy a set of 4 pods for over $100.

Fantastic at grinding pepper, going to buy another for the dehydrated garlic i have.
