I'm reviewing Journey Spice Co. Organic Tuscan Seasoning.This Tuscan seasoning is fresh and delicious. My husband is Italian, and I enjoy cooking ethnic foods for him. I used this blend to flavor onions and peppers for sauce I made for cheese manicotti. I also used it to season the chicken I sautéd to serve with the manicotti (see photos). It added a lovely flavor to both dishes, and my husband gives his stamp of approval.This blend has all the flavors we enjoy in Italian cooking including sun-dried tomatoes, peppers, garlic, oregano, basil, parsley, onion and more. I appreciate that there's no sugar or salt in this blend. We don't care for sugar in our pasta sauce and with no salt, it allows me to control the salt level. See photo for a full ingredient list.This seasoning is USDA Organic and non-GMO.It comes in a box reminiscent of school lunch milk boxes only thinner and taller with a unique paper cap that keeps the top closed when not in use (see photo). This is a great way to cut back on plastics going to the landfill. I guess I'm not convinced how fresh this packaging will keep the seasoning over time now that it's been opened, so I'm transferring it to a small glass canning jar. The MFD is 04/2024 with a best by date of 10/2026.As mentioned I used this seasoning to create homemade tomato sauce and to season chicken. It would also be great mixed with olive oil to create a dipping sauce for bread.As a side note, this Journey Spice Co. Organic Tuscan Seasoning is made in the USA using responsibly sourced global ingredients.

At first I did not like the container that the Organic Tuscan Seasoning by Journey Spice Co. arrived in. It is a little paper carton. Once I learned the reason behind it, then I can applaud it. The company is trying to reduce their carbon footprint to the fullest extent possible. Bravo! I suffered a dilemma in what to do to keep this seasoning as fresh as possible. I decided to put it all into my reusable glass jar with a screw top lid that I keep on hand. I applaud recycling and reusing too! Now my seasoning will stay as fresh as the day it was opened, and let me say it was fresh and delicious on arrival.All of the flavors combine perfectly. You can really taste the premium quality of the organic ingredients. I felt like I took a trip to Tuscany. Every ingredient is organic and natural and it compliments the foods. I used it on chicken and in meatballs. I poured some of it in some extra virgin olive oil and, made a delightful accompaniment to my fresh braked bread. It is one of the best seasonings that I have ever encountered. I will be buying more.

This is a fresh and fragrant seasoning blend. Its ingredient list is long with all organic herbs and vegetables. It has a larger grind than regular Italian seasoning, shown in the picture. The Journey Spice (on the left) is colorful and the name brand Italian seasoning is monochromatic and finely ground. I added this Tuscan blend to steamed green veggies and I loved how it gave them a pop of color. The flavor was great too. This is 2.7oz for around thirteen dollars at the time of review. This is higher than our local spicery where I get small batch custom blends for special occasions. And I thought they were expensive. I think the Journey Spice packaging is the main reason for the high price point. It’s a foil-lined paper box with an opening at the top resembling a tiny milk carton. It’s brand awareness with sustainable packaging, which I’m all for. I transferred this seasoning to a glass jar because the carton doesn’t fit in my spice drawer. Other reviewers did the same for different reasons. This is a really well rounded mix of spices that make this Tuscan spice mix. I used this on my baked chicken, and all that I needed to add was salt! Really nice seasoning mix

The flavors in this seasoning make it wildly versatile. Use it to dry-rub chicken, steak, fish or shrimp. I used it as the seasoning in a simple oil/vinegar marinade for shrimp before grilling them - it was magic. I added this seasoning to a salad dressing (made in the morning so it was full of flavor by dinner) - fabulous.The + here is that Journey Spice Company clearly takes a thoughtful approach to their products. The no sunlight penetrating packaging that's recyclable is brilliant. Organic, for us, is a must. The variety and scope of their products makes me want to try a new seasoning and a new dish every day. I'm ordering the Za'atar next and can't wait to try it!

I loved the spice. I like that they are trying to avoid plastics...but once you open this, it goes stale..I had to transfer to an old glass jar.

I'm reviewing the Organic Tuscan Seasoning blend from Journey Spice Co. These spices are highly aromatic and certified organic; both attest to a high quality seasoning. Instead of a jar, this company sets itself apart by using a rather unique little mini carton. I'm on the fence as to whether I like the carton better than a traditional jar - it does take up a bit more room in the pantry, and it seems like a porous material is more likely to be impacted by factors like humidity than an airtight jar. But it's cute, and good for the earth (they really send that point home!) and it functions well enough, I suppose.As for the blend, I'm quite fond of it! When it arrived in the mail I decided this was spaghetti night: I make my own meatballs, and Mama Mia, this Tuscan seasoning blend really tastes great! It's complex and so flavorful with many traditional herbs which blend together very nicely. My spouse is on a reduced sodium diet so I really appreciate blends without salt (thanks!)Gotta rate it five stars, then. I like it. You probably will, too.
