I purchased this a few days ago as we had some damp appearing on the inside of a bedroom wall. Firstly the packaging is not fit for purpose. The tin was in a plastic bag which was inside a white box, this box was inside a bigger brown box and the protection inside the brown box was some brown paper nothing more. On opening both boxes the tin was badly damaged, it had not been punctured but no care had been taken whilst in transit.The product seems to have done the job. I have given the wall 2 coats so hopefully this will cure the damp but the after smell is very strong and after a couple of days from painting the smell is still strong.

Really pleased with this product yes it does smell a but strong but only for a few hours apart from that does the job used on cellar wall which was a bit damp seems to have cured the problem will use again if needed

“Formulated to have minimal odour”, the lads and ladies at damp seal clearly have a different idea of what “minimal odour” is, than I do. The stench of this stuff is horrendous, I have had all my windows open all day and the extractor fan on in my bathroom and the smell is still strong enough to keep you awake.This would almost be tolerable if the paint was actually any good, the coverage is awful and it’s not exactly what I would call white either. The colour is closer to cream.Would not recommend.

Late last year we moved into a centuries old house; it is fabulous but has a serious damp problem. One of the first things I had to do after moving in was scrub the inside of all external facing walls because of mould, and start using a dehumidifier. I have had to stay on top of the constant scrubbing, and using damp absorbers and dehumidifiers. I wanted something that offered a little more protection to help me combat the issue, which is why I ordered this paint.This paint is very easy to use. I simply scrub all of the walls (if there is any mould on them), run the dehumidifier and make sure the walls are dry before painting.A few things to note:✸ Make sure the walls are dry – do not use on a rainy day!✸ It is best to do this on a dry, sunny day so you can open the window to air out the room when you are done.✸ It takes about half a day to dry, so if you are doing it in the bedroom you may want to sleep in a different room or start super early.✸ This paint has VERY strong fumes. It will be hard to sleep in the room the same day you use this. The noxious scent gets fainter after it dries, but it still lasts for a couple of days before it starts to fade.✸ Wear a mask while using, the fumes are strong and can cause lightheadedness.This paint does work very well, it creates a fantastic waterproof barrier to help combat the problems caused by damp. It works great as a base coat for paint or wallpaper, or even as a standalone paint.Overall, I am very happy with the performance of this paint. It is doing a great job helping me combat the damp problem in our house. I have used it on the walls most prone to damp, as well as the windowsill areas in almost every room.

Really impressive damp proof paint which is satin finished.

Hopefully it provides a damp proof layer however the smell is still lingering almost a week later. I've used it in my bedroom and can't sleep in it as its just overpowering despite having the windows open day and night. Would not use again.
