This is a good character study. We follow Jason as he struggles through his teen years, college and the aftermath. He’s shy with girls because of his small endowment, particularly as he realizes size really does matter. He’s prone to humiliation, and shattered when he witnesses his high-school crush getting savagely taken by another guy. College brings more of the same.A few years on a perceptive friend, Kristen, sensing he at some level enjoys the humiliation, undertakes to teach him about sex — what women like, what he can do to please them despite his shortcomings, and what he himself likes.

In The Education of a Cuckold: A Story of Love, Lust, and Fate, Jason and all other characters are of consenting age and rather eager to participate in the sexual acts portrayed. Jason is a strapping and muscular guy with a tiny penis who likes his porn live. Kristin is a very adventurous woman who comes off as a bit of a sadist but one who believes that she's truly helping Jason come to grips (so to speak) with his tiny endowment. As with any erotica novel, The Education of a Cuckold: A Story of Love, Lust, and Fate contains a lot of very graphic sex very little of which is between the protagonist and his fellow characters. Jason is someone who enjoys watching and has a fascination with large penises.While the story is very much about sex and the copious having of it, it's also the story of Jason's life. At the start of the story he's been hoping for a relationship with the beautiful Beth. He's been caring and supportive and doesn't push her for any sort of physical connection. Jason, for his obsession with sex and having orgasms (he ponders at one point in the novel if he's an addict as he always seems to be chasing the next orgasm) is something of a romantic. Hathaway cleverly develops Jason in a way that gives him depth. He's a bit of a jock but also something of a cautious optimist. The sex that he views is deeply personal for him as it shows his inadequacy (via the large penis of the other participate and the satisfaction of the players) and he's ashamed and yet turned on by that inadequacy. Hathaway avoids making this late teen and young college student some Beavis and Butthead clone looking to see naked breasts. Jason wants a meaningful and satisfying connection with a woman despairing of ever making that connection because he wouldn't be able to satisfy her sexually.There's something of a surprise ending that takes the next book from an interesting possibility to a must read. If you're not usually an erotica reader but don't mind sex as a driving force in your story line, check out The Education of a Cuckold: A Story of Love, Lust, and Fate. You don't have identify with the acts in the story line to appreciate this well written novel about a boy and his quest to find sexual and personal satisfaction.

One truism of human sexuality is that often you don't truly know if something will arouse you until you actually experience it, directly or indirectly, regardless of how you view it intellectually. When a virginal recent high school graduate witnesses his girlfriend enjoying a vigorous sexual romp with an exceptionally well-hung former classmate, he learns that lesson for the first time as he acknowledges his unexpected intense arousal. The Education of a Cuckold does an excellent job of presenting the cuckold fetish in an accurate and erotic manner as it chronicles significant events in the life of Jason, a young man who is sexually insecure due to his diminutive genitalia, from his late teens through his early thirties.The story's narrative is told from Jason's perspective as he shares his experiences in an autobiographical format that serves as his personal catharsis. The entire book is not only about cuckolding, but mostly it does recount key situations and people that influence Jason's sexuality and his ability to accept his limitations and his secret turn-ons. As the story unfolds it balances deftly between organic erotica and self-discovery.Perhaps the most enlightening part of this book involves Jason being taken under the wing of an older woman who completely understands his dilemma and offers to help him face the reality of his physical shortcoming and develop a strategy to work around it. At times her methods are a bit harsh as she sets about breaking him down before building him back up, but ultimately they are effective. Eventually he becomes such a complete lover that women he becomes intimate with are able to overlook his limited ability to please them sexually by conventional methods.If only it were that easy to live happily ever after for our boy Jason. After he reconnects with Beth - his promiscuous high school sweetheart - and marries her, he realizes that whereas he has managed to cope with his lack of sexual prowess, he misses the thrill associated with being sexually humiliated while the object of his desire openly engages in penetrative sex with a well-endowed partner. As the curtain falls, Jason discovers that Beth has been snooping around his computer and has read the manuscript of his confessional story. A recommend for this book, it was nicely written, had a wonderful positive and inclusive message, and introduced us to the fetish of cuckoldery quite nicely. The story of the hero was the journey here, and his coming to terms with what he thought was a limitation, but it opened a whole new world of exotic fetish pleasures to him was my warm and fuzzy takeaway.
