Unreliable and practically useless in city running
Review updated on 5 June 2016The unit has finally been repaired and is working properly for the past few weeks. The local service center was very co-operative and they replaced a defective electronic board. Hope it will keep working...........! Well, when I got over my moods, I contacted Tropicool at Pune and I was pleasantly surprised to hear that they have engaged a service agent at Cochin. Now, I have given the fridge to this service centre and they have promised to solve the problem for me. Hope to get it in working condition by next week!Earlier review:I bought Tropicool 12AD about a year back. Tested it on AC mains and it failed after a few days use. Contacted customer care and they said they have no service centre in Kerala and I sent it to Chennai for repairs. Worked for a few days after repairs but again failed. Repaired once more, but the service agent said they will not repair again and instructed that the unit should be used in an air conditioned room. I left it unused for a long time but finally just thought of trying it once more last week. It worked for a few hours but went dead again. I am in no mood to courier it to Chennai or Pune from my location, Cochin. In any case, I have found it useless in the car running within the city since it takes a long time to cool and also cannot be used inside the boot in a sedan! Not even as good as a simple cool box!! I have to dispose this off as E-waste now. Probably I have bad luck with the piece I received. However I would advise anyone adventurous to buy Tropicool to do so after checking for service availability in your region.

Didn’t work as per my expectations
Cooling is not very difficult effective as per my expectations . It never reaches 0 degree even if it’s continuously on power plug for days together. It maintains temperatures between 10-16 degrees. Storage space is also not sufficient.
