6 Inch Backdraft Damper, Duct Draft Stopper One-Way Airflow Ducting Insert with Spring-Loaded Folding Blades for 6 Inch Ducting in Range Hoods, Bathrooms Fans, and Kitchen Fan

This might be a bit long-winded, but hopefully it makes sense.I'm putting in 3 new bathroom exhaust fans and decided to have some additional back draft protection due to routine high winds. Initially I ordered 3 of the silver "[Upgraded] Hon&Guan 4 Inch Backdraft Damper, One-Way Airflow Duct Dampers", and when they arrived they seemed suitable, good enough to do the job. But then I read about this Atom Nexus brand being sturdier, made of thicker metal and less likely to contort or warp under the pressure of the 4" clamps that secure the damper to the vent ducting. After reading this, I decided to test my Hon & Guan Dampers. I gently squeezed the damper body circumference while simultaneously opening the vent blades, and sure enough, if the damper body was squeezed in a certain way or squeezed too much, the vent blades would strike against the wall of the damper body and not open completely nor close, until I released the squeezing pressure I was putting on the damper body. So I ordered 3 of the Atom Nexus dampers and their increased strength and metal thickness is immediately noticeable. I tried my little squeeze test to see if the damper vent blades would get stuck or otherwise be affected, and I couldn't even squeeze this damper body at all by hand, let alone impact the operation of the vent duct blades inside. These Atom Nexus back draft airflow dampers appear to be superior to any of the others I have read about or seen here on Amazon. Highly Recommended.

They fit perfectly inside the proper size vent (I used the 4 Inches one), the quality and functionality are great. They solved 100% the cold air coming in the restroom vent!

It’s a very well-made, high-quality, in-line damper. It’s sealed very well. Springs are not too strong If it is properly installed.

These are heavy duty and you should never think the flap in your bathroom vent is good enough to keep out winter wind

This is truly a high quality product. It is the best backdraft damper that I’ve seen.The tight tolerances make so that I can’t see any light pass by the baffle!!! This paired with the foam gasket allow very little draft. The baffle open and closes easily. It works Great!The metal exterior is thick and sturdy and the paint job is beautiful and durable, which is perfect because it will be exposed in my workshop.I definitely recommend this product!
