I used to love Callard and Bowsers licorice but they went out of business. This is a good replacement except it is soft, not a toffee. Very delicious mild licorice flavor in a chewy wondfulness.

Of course I was trying to recapture Callard & Bowser's licorice toffee. This is close. What is lacking is the flavor of cream in the toffee (caramel). The sugar balance, and anise were pretty close. It does contain a fair amount of corn syrup and palm kernel oil.

These are fine, but not great. They're a little too sweet , the anise flavor is too muted, and I get the "corn syrup and oil" comment another reviewer offered. And the individual toffee pieces are bigger than expected, so getting them consumed takes more planning (don't eat them around polite company).I also ordered two other company's offerings and will update my review when I get them and try them.Update: I got the Everton Toffees. Waaaay more delish. Stronger anise flavor, less "greasy" mouth feel and slightly less sweet.

Originally found this at my local grocery store and then they stopped ordering it. Was thrilled to find it here and the first order was just like the one purchased at the store. Now have ordered it a second time and the recipe appears to have changed with regard to texture and flavor. I will not chance this again. Mediocre!!

I almost didn't reorder after having a shipping issue with the first order. An empty bag, no licorice! But I'm glad I gave it another try. My husband loved these!

Love these carmels. They taste so good. I even ordered some for my sister as a gift. Great value for 4 packs.

These are the best caramels. Slight buttery taste. Not too chewy. Practically melt in your mouth. Will definitely order more.

These are really good. The apple flavor is somewhat subtle, with the creamy caramel being the main thing you taste. Not as amazing (in my opinion) as the licorice flavor by this company, but still very good.
