I was very pleased with the quick shipping
The tie downs arrived in short order. I was very pleased with the quick shipping, packing and overall quality of the tie downs. I mounted them in my utility trailer. I made a template from 3/4" wood stock and drilled a 3 1/2" hole with a hole saw and drill press. The template butted up against the bottom rail of the utility trailer. I used a straight cut router bit 1/2" wide with a flush bearing at the top and set 1" deep; however, I made two passes; first pass at 1/2 inch and the second pass at 1". I located the template with the template hole centered and template butted up against the bottom rail of the trailer. I used a staple gun with 2" staples and tacked the template in place. It held very well and easy to pop out and move to the next location. I drilled a 1" deep starter hole for the router bit with a 3/4" forstner bit flush against the inside edge of the template hole. I set the router bit to 1/2" depth and dropped it into the starter hole with bearing flush against the edge of the template and ran around the outside edge cutting the perimeter. Then I nibbled away at the remainder and slowly cut out the interior of the recessed hole. I lowered the bit to 1" for the second pass doing the same. My son got a kick out of holding the vacuum hose for the dust collector sucking up the debris as I routed. I drilled a quarter inch hole in the middle of the cut out through the remainder of the wood floor and used a counter sink bit to make a funnel shape. This is for drainage should water or moisture get between the bottom of the tie down and the cut out. I sealed the wood, let it dry for a day, then drilled my bolt holes and used clear silicone to seal the tie down and bolts to keep water from penetrating beneath the tie down, and dropped in the bolts and tightened them up. I used 3/8" x 2 1/2" carriage bolts, washers, lock washers and nuts of course. The mounting of the tie downs went perfectly and they give me significant utility. The most important thing to me though is the fast shipping and excellent packing of the product from Mackie Ent Inc (I bought four tie downs with backing plates). As a footnote, I found tie downs at Home Depot. The Home Depot tie downs were half the capacity and cost twice as much with no backing plates. Mackie Ent Inc is offering excellent value and excellent customer service.

These are impressively strong and very nice that they drop out of the way
These are impressively strong and very nice that they drop out of the way. I have an 8' x 5' trailer with plywood deck these were installed on and the hardest part was finding stainless bolts etc, and an appropriately sized hole saw that didn't break the bank. I ended up using the backer plate as a template, marked the deck and used a saber saw. The backer plate was also great for drill guide for bolt holes!.Just be sure there's no interference with struts or wires under where you'd like to put these anchors, I thought of that just before making a big mistake, thankfully. The taller edge of the backer goes on the hinge side as pictured, and the loop goes in the direction of anticipated strap tension direction for best strength. There are weep holes in the ring wells to let water out! Nice touch.I haven't needed to trailer my bike yet, but have moved the riding lawnmower many many times over hundreds of miles (get yourself ratchet straps, buy once and be happy ever after) without problems. Some wood preservative (used up some Cuprinol) in the holes and cuts should help keep the deck from suffering the cuts.

Heavy Duty D-Rings
I bought the set of 9 because I needed 8 (for 2 bikes) and they didn't sell just 8 so that's OK I have a spare. The price was good and shipping was quick. When they arrived they were of very good quality but I could not believe that there were no bolts. That small detail adds another $60.00 to the to the total. That would have been nice to know up front I probably would have bought something else.

Cut right takes time done w/care very sturdy good floor, they hold my ultra classic limited fine.
Not the easiest to install, but worth doing right! A hammer, chisel, jigsaw ,a drill and a paper template of the upper D ring piece makes fora firm fit. You have to get the bolts and nuts to the thickness of the floor.

Recessed D-Ring, Motorcycle Tiedown w/ Backing Plate 6 pack
I replaced six corroded ones that only had large washers on the underside. The rings were received as promised. They needed a tiny bit larger opening in my trailer floor, than the original ones, so I used a wood rasp to make the hole a bit larger. Not the fault of the D-ring and only added a few minutes to installation. The backing plate is outstanding. Very, very strong. My trailer has some existing screws in the floor that required me to get underneath and mark on the plate where they occured. Then drilled a hole in the plate to allow it to fit as needed. Some customization, but well worth the effort if you want the peace of mind when hauling your favorite 800lb bike in the mountains. The units accept carriage bolts. You will need to get them from your hardware store with length as required for your floor. Highly recommend these D-Rings. Well made and heavy duty. Excellent product.

Recessed D-Ring Tie-Downs with Plates
Excellent D-Rings, installed in our 8.5 x 16 enclosed trailer. I bought D-rings just like this from the trailer dealer that did not come with bottom plates and were more expensive than these. So I found these on Amazon and please to see the plates included--which are needed to have the 6,000LB tie-down capacity. There are no bolts included, which is known when you purchase, so that's not a reason to down-grade the item. I went to HD and purchased the 3/8" x 1 1/2"L bolts, flat & lock washers, and nuts. Motorcycle tires roll right over them with no issues. Super product!

DOES NOT CONTAIN COACH BOLTS FOR MOUNTING
It would be nice to know that they do not contain the bolts to mount them as we now have to go to the local hardware supplier to get bolts so we might as well got the tiedowns from them as well rather than waiting for them to be delivered. The picture also show bolts so would assume they came with them. Why not state it in the listing that they DO NOT?
