I am the most short tempered and impatient person but I did this.I thought I would try this on upstairs windows to keep the sun out in the summer. This is the only time I ever bought a product from Amazon where the seller send me an email with extra tips to apply it. Spend the extra money and buy the film with 1/4 in grid markings it will make cutting more accurate and easier for novices.First - Take the time to thoroughly clean the window. First pass warm water and dish soap. Next, clean with rubbing alcohol cleaned off with a coffee filter.Measure the glass. Cut the piece of film. Taping down the end will help keep the film from slipping away. You might want to lay a sheet down, then the film, then the sheet, and set HEAVY books on it to flatten the film. Go away for a few hours for a day. If you are feeling confident keep going.Spray the window lightly, I used distilled water mixed with baby shampoo, I already had it I didn't have to go buy it but the instructions say water will do. Regular tap water may cause spot.I didn't find the supplied tape really easy to pull the clear backing off the film. I used my own Scotch tape. If you've got stronger tape around the house try it. Work one corner, then a long edge, place on window glass and pull the clear film off slowly. This is a little fiddlely.I used the straight edge of the film to work along the top edge of the glass then work it down with a sqeegee from the center out. Use a blade to cut edges. The edge of the film must sit on the glass. Keep pushing out from center to edges to push out the liquid from under the film or it will leave a bubble. Wipe the moisture from edges. The film will cut very fine.If you just take your time it will come out ok. If your a calm and patient person it will turn out fine. If not, just do it in pieces.If it causes you to swear set every down and come back to it.

This does not work! During the day, you can see outside,but not see inside. During the night, you can't see outside, but you can definitely see inside. How is that privacy? Don't spend your money on this crap!

I wish I would have purchased this sooner. It has a made a huge difference in the temperature of my home, being that we don't have any trees here to keep the heat out. I'm looking forward to a cheaper light bill. Also, it was extremely easy to apply. We purchased a dollar squeegee, some windex and had it done it no time.

This film looks sleek and really blocks outside views during the day while still letting in plenty of light. Super easy to install with static cling—no glue mess. It also helps reduce heat from the sun. Functional and modern!

It’s ok but quite tricky to install. Will stick with soapy water but hard to remove the bubbles. It indeed filters the sun and make my home cooler.

This has helped so much for keeping my home office cooler. What a relief! I highly recommend this product...great for privacy and keeping the room cool.
