Great idea that works great for my Igloo cooler
First, a few disclosures: I bought this with my own money and I am not an AI chatbot (or a summary cobbled together from reviews by an AI scraper). I am saddened that Amazon is plagued by reviews that are incentivized or not even written by actual humans, let alone people who have used the product. I am just a regular Joe who was trying to solve a problem and took a chance on a product that turned out to exceed my expectations and I wanted to share that. The problem I was trying to solve was with a recently purchased Igloo water jug. If you grew up in the 80s or 90s, you know just what I'm talking about: the red plastic, squattish cylindrical jug with the stopper and carrying handle you could get for a song. Turns out you still can--it cost me about $7 at Wally World, a fraction of the price of one of those trendy metal flasks. Those are easy to dent, hard to clean, and expensive. The Igloo, on the other hand, is easy to fill, easy to clean, and holds enough water to last a whole day. In short, I love it, but it has one drawback. Since it's relatively thin plastic, it doesn't insulate too well and the water doesn't stay cold. I thought I solved this by filling it up with ice from my icemaker before putting in the water. It did, but since my icemaker doesn't have a filter, it imparted a taste to the water that I found--distasteful. I figured that if I could make ice from the great tasting water from my sink, I could make this sticking point go away. That's when where this silicone ice tray comes in. I started looking on Amazon and found lots of ice trays, but I didn't want to have to fill several of these each night to have enough ice the next day for a full jug of water. In short, a traditional ice tray was going to be too much work. (First world problems, I know.) Then I happened to run across this ice tray, which makes just one giant 6-lb block. This seemed like just the trick! I measured my Igloo and compared it to the dimensions of the tray in the Amazon image, and it looked like the ice would just barely fit. But since I've found dimensions on Amazon to often be inexact at best, it still felt like a risk. I gambled and ordered it, and I was rewarded. As you can see in my images, it does indeed just barely fit. That's exactly what I wanted. I'm in my office now with the jug, which I filled over six hours ago, and the ice block is still mostly intact and the water is still ice cold. Try that with a Hydro Flask. So that's the specific purpose for which I ordered this ice tray, although I'm also looking forward to using it with my Titan Deep Freeze zipperless cooler. Since it comes as a pair of trays, that should equal over one small ice bag. These are pretty easy to fill--just be careful when transporting to the freezer, because it can easily slosh around and spill. I recommend leaving at least an inch at the top, which still produces a plenty big ice block. Fill it at night and it's solid in the morning. I was a little worried it would be hard to remove the frozen block, but I've found it to be supremely easy. The silicone is really flexible, so you can easily work it back and forth and side to side until it works free. I do recommend lifting it out by hand once it's free, because you could do some damage trying to dump this into another vessel. To sum up, this simple but nifty ice tray has exceeded my expectations and I'm unreasonably happy about purchasing it.

Very thick silicone. Works great
I use the ice blocks for my chicken waterer on hot days. Three gallon was the biggest size block that would fit. Very impressed how thick the silicone is and still easily remove the ice. I fill them about halfway then put them in my freezer and then I use a jar to fill them the rest of the way. If I was more graceful I might be able to carry full from the sink to the freezer. Highly recommend.

Great for cold plunge
These are a lot sturdier than other silicon ice blocks so we ordered a 2nd set. Freeze easily overnight and come in handy for our daily cold plunges!

Perfect for ice bath
These pop right out and are perfect for.my ice bath. I toss the ice in and dip these things in, refill them with water from the bath, and put them back in the freezer for next time. I'm going to order more.

Be aware of how much ice you need
This is a well-designed product for its intended use. I hope it works for many people but it didn't for me. Even though I purchased six of these, at 3 lbs of ice each that's only 18 lbs of ice. Folks, be aware that to lower your ice bath water temperature significantly (5 to 10 degrees) you may likely need 30-40 POUNDS of ice. I'd have to have purchased around a dozen of these, a but then there's the matter of refilling, re-freezing, and keeping that many all clean. Plus the six 3-lb blocks I put in melted in 10 minutes or so, not over several hours. If you live in a colder weather climate these may work for you, but I'm going back to buying bottled water jugs and just freezing/refreezing them because I need at least 30 lbs of ice. Most of you probably will, too.

Awesome!
My construction worker husband takes a large water jug to work and we were always fighting to keep ice cubes in our freezer, especially during summer time. I found these and thought to give it a try! My husbands water jug now stays cool alll day long! He is not disappointed!!!

Each cube is about one 7 lbs bag of ice
Ice cubes last significantly longer than a bag of ice. Super easy to use and blocks slide right out. I fish a lot and this saves me tons of money on ice, using the extra garage freezer to keep 10 cubes in there or 70 lbs for each offshore trip.

Well made but not enough ice
The silicon mold is pretty sturdy. Unfortunately 4 blocks in my bath tub only brought the water down to 60 degrees. I am keeping them and will use them for camping and my ice chest.
