great vacuum and quieter than similar products
I bought a similarly priced Eureka Powerspeed last year when I wanted an inexpensive light vacuum to handle a few rooms to replace a heavy Eureka that was on its last legs. Most of our floors are wood except for a couple of area rugs and a couple of bedrooms. I needed another vacuum for my shop but wanted to try this Bissel at the same price point. After unboxing and trying it out we noticed several considerable improvements over the Eureka. Even though we had just vacuumed with the Eureka the Bissel almost immediately filled the cannister with dog hair and dust from an 8x10 area rug.... We tried a couple of the bedroom carpets and the Bissel was definitely picking up a LOT from just vacuumed carpets. Next we noticed that the Bissel was not uncomfortably loud. My partner would complain about how loud the Eureka was but hey it's a vacuum, they're loud! Complaint ignored except that the Bissel was NOT uncomfortably loud. Not even close. I have a decibel meter and measured both in a carpeted bedroom. The Eureka was 80db and the Bissel was 75db. That doesn't sound like a lot but it is! 5db is actually DOUBLE the volume and if you look at a chart 70db is a conversation, 75db is a comfortable noise level, and 80 is uncomfortable LOUD noise that can start to damage hearing. So half the noise and you can really tell the difference. Also, we had to use an extra extension cord with the Eureka whereas the Bissel came with a 27' cord which was long enough to reach everywhere with minimal replugging in. Last, the Eureka wand required removing the handle which then made accessing areas awkward and moving the vacuum difficult with the handle removed. The Bissel includes a straight wand extension and the handle is still right where you left it. This Bissel is an amazing value for a low end price point.

Great Buy!
After opening and assembling the vacuum, I set it aside for a few days. When I finally decided to use it, I was amazed by its pickup power. I did raise the blade for thick carpet, but it didn’t roll as easily as I had hoped. However, it performed well on flat carpet, and the bare floor setting was excellent. What intrigued me the most was the powerful attachment for picking up pet hair. Although I don’t have a pet, I used the attachment on my sofa, and it was amazing. The speed and suction made it worthwhile.Overall, the vacuum has impressive suction all around, whether or not you use the attachments. The assembly was easy and quick, and emptying and reassembling it was straightforward. I’m glad I chose the CleanView Swivel Rewind cleaner. You really can’t go wrong with this vacuum.

Heavy duty!
There is a lot to love about this vacuum. We bought it to replace the cordless shark for pets. Overtime, the cordless seemed to lose its suction and after a year could do the house (20 minutes) and then was out. So, we decided to go back to a corded option. This is a bigger, heavier machine than what we were using. That took some getting used to. But the nozzle comes off and has a really nice vacuum attachment for places that I cant maneuver vacuum. The vacuum is easy to maneuver with a very swiveling head. The best part is the suction. I vacuumed the living room carpet the day after the housekeeper had done the cleaning and vacuuming- this baby sucked up almost an entire canister of dog hair!!! It was shocking how much it picked up that we could not see. I immediately did the whole house- emptying the canister three times! This allowed me to test the cord length as well. I found it could easily do two rooms (both fairly large) before needing to move the plug. This seemed reasonable to me. No complaints. The button sucked in the cord quickly and neatly as well. You can tell this sucks deep. I used the higher level for carpets and did hardwood floors as well. I was pleased that it does the very edges right next to the wall- you can see the brushes come out and grab the edges making sure every gets sucked up. Overall, we are pleased. I am hopeful it will last a couple of years making it more affordable than the other in the long run. It is more effective. There is some trade off in weight and moving the cord, but the effectiveness is significantly better.
