Lavievert Bubble Umbrella Birdcage Clear Umbrella with Black Border

I am a Prime member and shop online probably 4 times a week. I have never, nor do I prefer to leave negative reviews. Even when I haven't been "in love" with a product, I am realistic and know that not everything is always going to be perfect. I do however expect the product to work. Shipping was quick and I was excited when my new umbrella arrived just in time for a rainy weekend and in advance of an even rainier Monday. Sad to say this umbrella won't see past Sunday! The FIRST use and it broke. I "tested" it when it arrived (i.e. opened it). I didn't love that it didn't have an "auto" open button, but then again I thought to myself I also didn't check; my bad. Fine, so today it was down pouring, I open the umbrella, get to my car...and...boom the thing is stuck open. NOTHING was budging it. I was sopping wet trying to close the darn thing. In the end the metal farm starting bending. I put the entire, half open umbrella in my car and took off (wet). Needless to say it is now in the garbage can. Save your money - buy something else!!!Update: customer service was very good. They sent a new umbrella without me even asking. Still haven't used it yet. It's raining tonight into tomorrow so I'll be able to test it out!

I had an umbrella similar to this for approximately five years, during that time that old trusty umbrella of mine certainly took a weather beating. Unfortunately, with passing time items eventually wear down and we one day have to see them put to a rest. Heartbroken from having lost such a trusty companion, I took to Amazon to find a replacement to help defend me from the rain. I stumbled across this interesting umbrella and was ecstatic to not only have found a replacement for my old one, but one that looked way cooler with the black trim! I was able to immediately put this new umbrella to use right from the box as Southern California was just beginning to get hit with the little showers before the big storm arrived. Day one of use (moderate drizzle) I noticed that my hand that I was holding the umbrella with kept getting wet, I assumed it was from the little wind present during that day. Day two of use (light drizzle) I had positioned my hand to hold the umbrella from the center of the pole and not the handle, yet my hand was still getting wet. Day two is also the day that I noticed the top of my head was wet. I had inspected the top of the umbrella to see if there were any holes to cause the leak, however I could not find even the tiniest of a pinprick. However, I did notice that one of the seams wasn't fully sealed together, thus the cause of the leak! I'm at least thankful that I was able to test it in light rain before having an absolutely horrible experience in the heavy rain that followed days later. In addition, I was slightly disappointed with the quality of the material as the pole was not as sturdy and the cover not as thick as previously owned umbrellas that were in the same price range.

Quality is average but good for the price. I've only used it a handful of times so I cannot speak to how long this will hold up for. The metal tip of the umbrella has already begun to rust (I keep mine open to dry so it's not like it' soaking in water). It isn't the smoothest to get open but it gets the job done. I do enjoy the transparent design as it allows me to keep the umbrella close to my head and still see where I'm going. Overall, great product.

It arrived as described. The only criticisms I have are that it is a little crooked, as though the handle warped and bowed a bit in the middle (does not affect functionality and may have happened in shipping) and that although it can fit two people, it would be a tight fit. It also is not crystal clear, the plastic is a little foggy. I enjoy it and have gotten compliments on it. It is definitely better than an umbrella bought in a local store for $20 so I have no complaints.

Seriously, this umbrella is so great that I actually wish it would rain more so I could use it. It's lightweight and the plastic is a way better quality than I expected. The bubble shape is a little exaggerated (compared to other brands I've used) but the radius keeps everything dry and the clear part stays transparent -- and doesn't get cloudy like some cheap plastics can! It seems pretty durable, and I would definitely buy another after this one wears out.

This umbrella is smaller than I thought it would be, meaning it is smaller than a typical umbrella you can find at Target of the same style. So if you want to be able to squeeze two people under it, just forget it. But it is still nice and does its job. It is also very stylish and unique. It is a little difficult to get open and closed because the metal tab that has to be pushed in is tricky to manage but it's do-able.

It is a cute umbrella but, the plastic is very cheap and the tip of the umbrella is real metal which here in the Texas hill country, we have been experiencing so many lightening strikes recently, I haven't been wanting to use it much. The plastic needs to be wiped down after use, either way you run into visibility issues with water stains. Other than that it was affordable at suits its purpose.

I just got this umbrella, so how it will stand the test of time remains to be seen. So far, I am happy with my purchase, except for one thing, and that is that you have to press the metal tab to open and close, difficult for these old fingers of mine. Still, I love the look of it so much, and it looks well made, so I was willing to deal with the open, close issue.
